Hi Angie - I notice that from time to time, Shabby Apple advertises on YLF and I've checked out their site once or twice (ok....more than than really!). I was just wondering if you know anything about the quality of their items and fit? Their retro style is right up my alley and I'm totally in love with this pencil skirt they have on sale.

I think the advertising is actually what you've been looking at, or related to things that you've been browsing on other sites.. someone explain cookies to me... oftentimes there is a very handsome man staring at me from the corner of my screen. I don't know where he comes from but I like it :). I have to assume it is because I occasionally browse men's clothing for dh?

If I wasn't supposed to be on SYC, I'd definitely try Shabby Apple, I looked at their website and they have some really pretty dresses, right up my retro ladylike style alley too! And Modcloth too! I've ordered a couple things from Modcloth, but they were things by other designers (the Willow & Clay jacket, and an Esther Williams swimsuit), so not really Modcloth clothes. In fact I think Modcloth just sells stuff from other designers, although one thing that drives me nuts is that they don't admit it---they don't list who the designer is, make up a different name for the item, and tend to sell it at a markup.

Must admit I only get popups from places I've been here. So never seen the Shabby Apple (but now I must go check it out) I get lots of Nordstrom and 6pm so I guess that tells what my habits are. Like you Shannon - no handsome men. Lucky Rita!

Right now I have AT&T smartphones, Clinique skincare and Zappos See Kai Run Shoes for kids. Big Brother is watching...

Shabby Apple has reviews onsite I think - and going by them, the quality and accuracy of representation is variable.

Frocks and Frou Frou blog has posted about them so maybe she has some?

I'd search Shabby Apple blog (or) flickr on Google images to see if you can find pics of real life wearings.

I think they might be Mormon, if that matters (correct me if I'm wrong).

OT but I don't see any of the ads since I installed Glimmerblocker (that was to solve a separate problem - I think Clean Your Mac (or maybe it was MacKeeper) was popping up on some websites and trying to force me to download it. Glimmerblocker was the only way to stop it. Don't download these Mac-cleaning/keeping things btw! :))

So I've done some online research in terms of reviews and they are NOT favourable - many complaints about poor quality fabric and bizarre fit issues. Hmmmm...

Update: emailed the company to inquire about sizing and fabric. I provided my exact measurements as the skirt is a final sale with no returns or exchanges. The company emailed me back promptly, said they measured the skirts and provided me with the size I should order - said "it will fit you perfectly". So I pressed the "buy" button and we'll see what happens!
