Ask Angie: Regular vs. Tall

Hi Angie! I have my eye on a couple of BR dresses, but at 5'7" the 36" length would be too short for me. If I ordered a Tall (38") does that change the entire fit of the dress or just the length? Thanks for your help! Paula

Usually the fit of the dress. But I have a hunch it will work. xo

The armholes and waist are placed higher on a petite, so I'd guess they are lower on a tall. But unless it's something like a sheath where everything has to be in exactly the right place there is usually some wiggle room.

I usually buy BR dresses and coats in petites even though I'm 5'5". Like Diana said, they bring up the arm holes and the waist, which suits my short waist well. If you are longer waisted, a tall might be great for you. Fingers crossed!

Maybe you could call a B&M BR store and ask one of the SAs about how the tall differs from misses'. I imagine they deal with that on a daily basis.
