I fell in love and became obsessed with outfit #4 from last year's post about pattern mixing plaid pants, so I bought a pair of plaid, houndstooth pants for Fall and Winter (yes, it's spring, but there are also sales on.)

My pants need hemming, but I like full length pants. The first question is, do I need to commit to shoes for a pant length? I like the pants best with white footwear. The white boots (Pics 3 & 6) are 2" high, so if I hem the pants about 1/4" from the ground and then wear them with runners, the pants will pool around my ankles, which seems to be the style these days.

After trying on two or three different black and white argyle sweaters, I decided they weren't for me. I bought these two other sweaters to see if they would work with the pants and I've layered them over a white shirt, but I'm not sure about them either and need an opinion.

The black and white sweater is very sporty and the sleeves are full length. The colour blocked grey sweater has 3/4 dolman sleeves and some bling running down the right diagonal line.

I have on order the houndstooth vest that I thought would be cute to echo (rather than mix patterns) the smaller houndstooth in the pants, but then I would return the two sweaters. I also like the idea that the vest has a v-neck.

Any and all thoughts are welcome (including other ideas)!

Thank you!
