Dear Angie and YLF folks,

I'm speaking at a big conference next month. A lot of speakers seem to end up in LBDs for this event, but I don't want to look like I'm trying to avoid being seen on stage. My style runs toward classic pieces without too much fussy detail in bright colors, so I'm leaning toward the dress I'm wearing in the attached photo, which you can see in more detail here.

I have two questions for you. First, how can I cover my arms a bit without losing the waist definition of this dress? Maybe some kind of lace or mesh jacket/sweater? Or a cropped cardigan? Other ideas? The auditorium shouldn't be cold, so this is just for psychological comfort.

Second, what shoes should I wear? I have low-heeled pumps in black or cream, the sandals in the photo (these, in bronze), quite a few boots. Or I can buy something new, as long as it's available in size 12. I rarely wear heels, and I don't want to be worried about falling off them while I'm speaking.

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Sandra
