Ask Angie: outfit for a birthday party

Hi,
This is my first post ever in a fashion blog.I live in bristol,UK nd I am planning my sons first year birthday party in June. I am very confused what to wear nd my frds consider me as a fashion disaster.

My ht is 147 cm (petite)
Wt is 72 kg
Could u plz suggest some nice outfit

Maybe you can tell the group a little about what you like, what has worked for you, etc so that people can get a better idea?
For your little one's birthday I think you need something that looks good and is practical. For my kids' BDs it was always a nice pair of jeans and a top, especially when they were so young but of course ymmv.
Congratulations on your little boy's birthday!
I hope others will see the post and suggest something as well.

You might want to take a look at the Ensemble posts that Angie does ( go to the Home page and click on Ensembles). There are lots of outfit ideas there to inspire you. I agree with Joyce - something practical and comfortable is a must, but there's no reason why you can't look fab too.

Thank you very much for ur suggestions. I like to wear nice nd bright colours (not the flashy ones) nd most of the time casual.But that's the problem becz I can't wear them for all occasions. When I wear some nice bright colors my frds say that I am too bright nd that's it all my confidence crashes down.I won't be comfortable in low waist nd sleeveless becz it doesn't suit me becz of my weight I guess.

Sometimes friends are not very good judges of fashion if what you're wearing is outside of their own comfort zone. I think you should still try to incorporate bright colors into your style, but maybe you could combine them with something simple, like jeans or black pants, to tone down the effect?

Angie recently posted an ensemble idea. It's a mix-and-match group that she calls a capsule. Does anything here appeal to you?

Instead of bright bright colors, maybe you could try deeper colors like jewel tones or mid tones that are clear clean shades and not as bright, or even pastels if they suit you. Not everyone feels comfortable with color, so go with what feels right to you. Posting photos for feedback is a great way to find out what is working or not and gain confidence.
