Angie, I think part of the problem IS that I haven't worn cropped/cuffed pants much. How on earth do you remember little things like that for so many clients and members here? I'm seriously impressed I'll try cuffing some pants with these; I tried it at work with my higher shaft ankle boots and didn't mind it at all.
Sara, they are quite loose around my ankles. Which makes them a bit weird because they're too short for my skinny jeans to fit inside so everything feels bunched up there. So Angie's definitely onto something--i need to play with pants length.
Jessiekams, I do like the idea of a column of black as you & Cardiff girl suggested and I have plenty of black in my closet. I don't normally wear all black from head to toe (apparently, I've scared people witless in a.a. meetings when I was a stagehand who had to wear all black and work/combat boots; and always loved when dinner breaks coincided with a meeting but I always forgot to remove my pocketknife before entering the meeting room). I'll definitely try all black (minus the pocketknife, obviously LOL). I do love the idea of the shoes (I am a sucker for haircalf), and they're aerosoles so they're quite comfortable.
Lisa, jeans are problematic with these shoes because of the width around the ankle and the height. The jeans just don't stack well with these. Maybe if I rolled them up into a cuff. I'm definitely going to try leggings with a longer tunic with these shoes.
Thank you, everyone, for the ideas! I'm going to keep the shoes and try some of these suggestions out because the thought of donating this pair hurts me.
