Ask Angie (& Others): Is My Boots Quest Over?!

I think I found The Boots: tall, black, not too many bells and whistles, slim calf (I have 14 inch calves and wear a size 11 typically), 2-inch solid heel (i.e., not a riding boot, not a kitten heel, not a 3-incher), and not explicitly Western. I found them on endless.com (they were 30% off--they are having a promotion that ends on Monday). They are by D-Segno, which I see Nordstrom carries. They are beautifully made, lined in leather, and fab.

Here they are in many iterations (straight/scrunched, bare legs/with tights/with leans, front view/side view). What do you think? They fit perfectly and I looove them--hope the verdict is a thumbs up!

The heels are wooden, stained a sort of faded black. I like them like this, but I could also see having them stained a true black--thoughts on this?

Oh, two thumbs up for sure! Those are great boots that fit you well and are very versatile.

So far, so good! C1, my SO (who took the pics) noticed that they looked brown in some, but they are definitely black. Must be the bad lighting/no sunlight situation we have, from now until April, LOL.

They are very nice Jonesy, I have a preference for them scrunched as it gives more shape to the ankle area but they also look good pulled up. The leather looks lovely.

Yes, I see what you mean about the ankle situation, but IRL they don't look particular baggy around that area, at least not as bad as some I've tried on :). I really like them scrunched too, but don't know if they will stay that way when I'm wearing them. They tend to pop back up.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the heels (to stain solid black or not)?

KEEPERS! Absolutely gorgeous on your legs! A great buy, IMO! As far as the heel goes - I would tend to keep them as is, but if you want them to look a little dressier than you could stain them a true black.

Thanks, Angie! Yes, they are a bit casual, but they feel like "me" and I love how they fit and look. I am contemplating having the heels stained black too, which will smarten them up a bit, I think.

Keep for sure it is so hard to find boots that fit and look great. I am looking for dress black knee boots with a 1-2 inch hell and really don't know where to start. All I have bought are mostly casual boots and booties. You have inspired me to start the hunt.

Renee, have you looked at Sudini? They have many styles of classic black knee-high lower heeled boots.

Definite keeper! Yay! You have great legs by the way, and these boots show them off quite nicely.

I think the contrasting color of the leather vs heel is not a problem, and personally I would be far too lazy to have the heels stained.

Darkening the heels is a fabulous idea, Jonesy!

I like them up and down, Jonesy. The fit looks perfect. I do think the heel color is an unusual touch but not necessarily bad. I do think staining them black would make the boots less casual.

I love them on you, and I vote in favor of staining the heels; they'd still look appropriately casual for casual outfits but would certainly work in more dressy options than without the darker heel. Great find and congrats

I am late here but just wanted to say how great these boots are! And you know what: they look pretty similar to my beloved grey Franco Sarto boots! Of course I approve them!:-) BTW, mine have black heels...
