Ask Angie or others: Talbots sizing?

I just saw that Talbots has put some of their fall clothes on sale - I'm thinking about doing some ordering. I know in Angie's blog post she said their clothes tend to run large.

Angie or others - do you know if Talbots' size charts on their web site are accurate?

I would size down at least one size - possibly even two. For example, if you wear a size 4 at BR you could probably wear a 0 at Talbots.

Old post, but is this still true? Greenglove pointed me to Talbots where I see two or three needs (sheath dress, ponte skirt, jackets).

Just a word of warning: size UP if you are large-busted. Talbots clothes are not made for the well-endowed! I wear size 4 in their bottoms but I have to go up to size 12 to get their button-down shirts to fit me. And their sheath dresses don't work for me at all because to get the bust to fit, the hips are way too big.

Coming back to say I just looked at their size chart online and they are definitely made for pears rather than inverted triangles or apples. So yes, I'd say the chart is pretty accurate!

Thanks MK. That is a big size difference! I was looking at a sheath dress, but that is my problem too, and my boobs aren't even that big... I fear ordering jackets online. May have to stick with the skirt, if anything.

So who does make clothes for ITs?!?!

But yesterday I was at the consignment store and snagged a fab, fab, fab Nanette Lepore pantsuit with a size 10 jacket and size 6 pants (her clothes run really small)! Apparently there is some wealthy woman in my town who is also an inverted triangle! LOL
