Angie,
I have decided this year to venture into more expensive brands for boots and ordered these to try:

They did not make your top list: does it mean they are not worth this amount of money to spend on them? I know you like both brands and your list has some of their shoes and boots but not these two. As I am driving down to NAS tomorrow I would really appreciate your pro opinion on those.

Hi Sveta, I don't know what Angie will say, but I bought the AGL boots and I LOVE them. They're so soft and comfortable- the leather is divine.

Both AGL and Stuart Weitzman make superior quality products. I think you'd do well with either, if they fit you.

I love both, in fact I am now considering them. I need to replace my black boots.

Not Angie obviously but I think both boots might be too short for you Sveta. I have a similar problem. They might hit at an unflattering part of your calf. I think we need at least 17 inch length to make past the troublesome spot. You might be even taller than me.

Sveta is taller than Zap - I have met you both

Both pairs are beautiful and comfortable, Sveta. They did not make my lists because most people have classic riding boots. I worry about the calf circumference, though - wide enough? I think a 16 inch shaft height should be okay.

Zap, I am much taller than you but I think you may have longer legs: 16" is a good length for me in a boot. I think my legs are of average length for my height but I have pretty long torso...
Angie, of course there is a question of fit but this is something I can assess myself - I have already ordered them. I was more interested to see if they pass your "filter" and worth splurging on: I have never bought boots at this price and maybe need some encouragement...if they worth it.

I loved these boots, but was really hesitant. I don't have any classic riding boots, but I would love some. I have larger calves, and for example, I tried on the Cole Haan, and they were a bit snug. No way I could get them over a jeans leg. I might give these a try.

Of course it may be that none of the 6 pairs of black riding boots I ordered fit... it would be very sad but on the bright side I would not need to agonize whih one to choose!
My only hope is that calf width increases with shoe size

I see Sveta. I am in the market for black boots, I'll be following your saga with interest. By the way, the VInce Camuto ones I posted about did not fit. They were too tight at the calf. So sad.

I am trying them too tomorrow, Zap...I really hope at least one pair fits! Boots are so brutal to fit, don't they?
Last year all tall boots were too big for me in the calf..we will see whta happen this time
