Ask Angie: Love Story and Mother Runaway jeans sizing

I enjoyed wearing my bootcuts so much yesterday, I'm thinking of adding another pair in a mid or light wash. Just wondering if you have any advice re: sizing on the Love Story jeans or the Mother Runaway flares:

I haven't tried any JBrands in a while. My old JBrand skinnies fit well in a 30 but I had to have the waist taken in. I've never tried Mother, but I usually wear a 30 in Paige, Hudson, etc. I looked in Nordies the other day, but none of these are in the store here.

If you can advise me on sizing, I'd appreciate it! I love the light wash on the Mothers. The wash on the Love Story might be too close to the Gap bootcuts I just bought.

I didn't like the way the baby flare of the Mother's draped over my low heels, Janet (odd break line) - but I loved the colour of the light blue wash. I MUCH preferred the dramatic flare of the Love Storys over low heels.

Both styles run TTS. I tried a 25 and 26 in both. The 25 fit well - which is what I usually wear - although 26s are generally fitting really well because premium denim runs small right now. That said - I went with the 26 in the Love Storys because I am allergic to things fitting too tightly. They are roomier than I think most people on the forum would wear them (judging by how many people bought the slimmer size in the AG Nikkis when I sized up). If I asked the forum to vote on size 25 or 26 - my hunch would be that the 25 would get the thumbs up.

So long story short - they fit TTS. Go with a 30.

Hey I just wanted to chime in and say my experience with the Mothers upon wearing is that they REALLY stretch out. Maybe it's because the fabric is so soft? It may not happen with their stiffer jeans, but at least 2 pairs of my Mother 28s were around my ankles by the end of the day. They're now gone. Which is too bad, because they were REALLY soft!
