Ask Angie: length of "shrunken" jacket ?

What is "shrunken" ? Is it about 20 inches, shorter , longer ? I want a shrunken denim jacket and I want to search on line, but the lengths confuse me.

Isabel, mine are both 17" from shoulder neck point to hem.

For reference, I'm 5'4 and short-waisted. So I need it shorter or else it won't seem cropped on me. I bought one of mine at the Bay in the adult department and the white one comes from Old Navy kids' department.

Depends on your height and length of your waist. My AE jackets are 19-20" (for some reason the blue is an inch shorter) and they are past my waist. The same jacket looks shrunken on long waisted people like Tanya, for example. Me, I'd need it to be like 16" to look shrunken. Generally I think a cropped, above waist length.

Actually, I think of shrunken and cropped as sometimes 2 different descriptors .

I echo what Suz and Diana said. Shrunken jackets are also very fitted. Not boxy.

Right. Isabel -- for comparison -- in my Dressmeister post, I consider my denim jackets (which are a bit boxy) to be "cropped." But the fuchsia knit blazer is "shrunken."
