Again, sorry for the multiple K/R. I tend to sit on these things (kinda like errands I don't want to do) until they pile up, cause me grief, and need to get resolved!

But, on to the issue at hand: Theory Tivona blazer.

It stretches some, so I'm comfortable, but is it too tight looking on my upper arms (thanks, chaturangas!)

Is the length okay, or too long (in my mind I'm 5'10", not the 5'5" I really am )

A couple reviews talked about it wrinkling This one spent some time in the shopping bag, but maybe those wrinkles won't fall out . . .

Alterations needed? One front facing seems to roll out a little. If I keep, maybe Nordies alterations can tack it or something.

As one petite to another, I feel that it really looks too long on you. Also, as Thistle said, if it's too tight, return. I love the Theory brand, but I have never been able to find anything that really flatters my 5'3" athletic build. The brands seems to be for a completely different body type than mine and maybe yours (at least with this jacket).

It doesn't look too tight. Gorgeous jacket.

I am unsure about the length. I have this very same issue. I want to hear from others who have a better sense of the proportions.

I have trouble with jackets this length on me - the combination of hitting at the widest part of me and cutting me in half is not super flattering.

In these pictures, the length looks a bit awkward. But I wonder if it would look better in a different outfit. If you had a shorter top underneath, that might help. So might a dark top for a column of color. So might lighter pants.

The fit looks good in 1, 2, and 4. In 3 I wonder if it's a bit tight in the upper back (I can't really see the arms). I've passed on jackets that wrinkle like that when I reach forward, but I'm not sure that's right. Would it be comfortable driving?

The fit looks good, but it looks too long, and that is weird because I am only 5'1". How does the length compare to the Lanai?

Its a beautiful jacket - but I think its too long for you. In the pics it appears to be cutting you right in half - I would go with something shorter.

my first thought was that it was a bit long especially from the front, but from the side and back, i think it looks great. i love the concept with those pants.

have you tried the linen slub twill jacket at hl?

or una's theory jacket?

You're right, Thistle, if it felt tight I would return. This one feels okay, but does it look tight?
I know, Linda - I keep trying on every Theory jacket I run across waiting for the one that fits ME
Suz - when we vary from our 'usual' pieces (like no more cropped jacket for me), those proportions get tricky!

CF - Yea, I hoped if I kept both pants and jacket, they'd work together, but the jacket looked better yesterday when I had denim bermudas on!

Una - this one says 27" length, Lanai says 22" back and 24" front. I remember trying Lanai (as soon as you looked SO fab in your then new Lanai) and thought it was wrong for my pear hips. But it's always worth a revisit!

Marley - You're probably right. (and hoping maybe you're not ;-)) Why do things look better in my own eyes?

Ah, I just looked up the Lanai and 24" is right - I knew yours had to be longer.I think it's the length and shape combined. If the Lanai were longer it would be too boxy in the hips since it's not very waist defining. That's what I see here too. The Lanai cuts away more whereas this one is straight across at the bottom, that will be less flattering, right?

sara, i think the revisiting the lanai would be great. especially with these pants. the open bottom may visually balance a short jacket on a pear.

I love my black lanai jacket so much I am considering a white one. Can't decide between this and the linen version. Wondering if this one is more practical because it could be worn all year round.

Well, I'm headed to the Mall of America tomorrow and it says there is a Lanai there

Unfortunately, it's one of the twill ones, but should be good for check fit and cut.

ETA: CF - have I seen pics of you in your Lanai?

I haven't read the comments, but vote return. It's too long. Fit is fab though - other than the length.

Whew - it will be returned tomorrow! My credit card will be happy too!
