Keep or return white jacket from Nordies?

Hi Angie -

I love your white leather jacket and found a cream leather moto jacket at Nordies - Truth & Pride 'Beekman' Leather Jacket - keep or return? I live in SanFrancisco where everyone wears black most of the time. I have been told that white is not a good color for me by multiple people, including the artist who did colors for me many years ago.

Not Angie...but....welcome! That jacket is a beauty, isn't it? I have seen it.

As for K/R -- it's really hard to judge. Do you love it? Have you found ways to style it that make you eager to wear it? I would not personally worry what other people wear but if white does not flatter you, that's a more important issue.

Visuals would help us here. Do you have access to a photo sharing program like Flicker? If not, then once you've commented on enough posts and been here about a week, you should be able to upload photos directly. That would help us help you!

The white jacket looks great on you. Cream or off white looks a lot better on many of us than stark white.

The jacket seems to fit you very well. I'd say SF needs a style-leader to point to a new direction away from all that black. Definitely a keeper.

I think you look terrific - the style looks like it really suits you, and you look confident and comfortable in the look.

As for the color thing, I have been so interested in color lately but have come to the conclusion that if you feel good in it, the wear it, regardless of whether it is "your" color. There are definitely some principles you can use to guide you to color choices, but at the end of the day, there is nothing more flattering than a person who is being true to themselves with their clothing and color choices.

That's just my two cents, for what it's worth. You look great!!

I think thejacket looks terrific on you! As for the color, hmmmm. That makes me pause. Angie really pulls off white and cream, but it so suits her coloring.

How do you feel about white? How will it make you feel to stand out in a sea of black?

I like it! The fit is great, it is hard to jusdge the color but if you feel great, go for it! I have found the white leather jacket which I bought last January to be very very useful. Much more so than I would have imagined before having it.

Love the jacket on you. Is it white or cream? I think cream usually has warmer undertones. As I understand, the color matters when it is by your face. I could understand you getting washed out by a white jacket. What if you popped a collar underneath it or wore a scarf? Also, I think there was post on the blog about black/white combo and how to pull it off. What if you tried the jacket with something that wasn't such a stark contrast? Just some ideas.
