Ask Angie: help! Can’t decide which would flatter my figure and my wardrobe

Hi! I love your site and have learned tons from it! Am trying to decide between two Sosken short down jackets—they are on deep sale. For anyone who has not yet discovered this brand and is interested in a coat with tons of style that is warm (I live in Chicago) and iwell made this is the brand for you. No, I have no affiliation with them. (They are shown on the sosken site, as the Bev Navy and the Giuila) not sure how to post photos

Here’s my question: do I get the plain navy short puffer, which would look great with my grey-bobbed hair? Or do I really push the envelope and get the Giulia, the patterned one, that’s super cool, but I run the risk of a)getting tired of it very quickly and b) looking wide in it. I’m a size 10 on top and 12 on the bottom, so I would tack down those peplum ends to narrow down the jacket.

I do have other short plain black puffers, but this has a ton of style and is a departure and would be a fun addition. I mostly wear solid pants-dark jeans or slacks, occasionally pinstripes. Any thoughts?

Hi! The navy puffer looks very sharp and versatile. The patterned one is SO much fun, though. I vote the patterned one, especially since you wear a lot of dark slacks.

I like Sosken coats too, avebabe.

I like the idea of the plain navy puffer because it has longevity. I know all too well how you can get tired of a pattern, and that's my concern.

Sorry if I posted inappropriately- probably should have let Angie answer first since the question was directed at her. I just got excited about the puffers!
I'm fairly new to this forum so still trying to figure out the etiquette....

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. This forum is terrific!. Christie, I totally agree, that pattern ROCKS! And Angie, you are so right, I could wear it a few times, and think, what WAS I thinking?!

What to do? Will think on it....do love both, but that would be totally crazy and ridiculous and repetitive! Already tried the coat on so I know it fits and can layer it under another coat for the crazy weather we’re having so am not worried about that

I love the print plus it will hide dirt. But only you know if you tend to get tired of prints. I like the uniqueness; you won’t accidentally pick up someone else’s jacket.

I have to say I really like the patterned one, because it’s dressy. But Angie has a good point.

I have a hard time with patterned coats because I don't want it to clash somewhere else on my outfit. Although you say you wear mostly solid pants so maybe that wouldn't be an issue for you.

Get both! You live in Chicago. You will wear the heck out of them.
