Ask Angie: GUESS? Cutaway Wool Blend Peacoat sizing

I really like this GUESS coat Angie posted yesterday and may be risking to order it online:

How does it run? I am between M and L and usually take L in coats just to accomodate the layers underneath. My biggest concern is the length of the torso and sleeves. I am so tired of having sleeves too short! How are the sleeves in this one?

Ha, Sveta - I too was tempted (especially after seeing Angie's beautiful Armani jacket), but I wondered if the sleeves would be too long as I'm tired of shortening all the time :-\

It is beautiful. I would be coveting if not for the puff sleeves - those are a dealbreaker.

I agree that is one stunning coat! Wish I could help you with sizing, Sveta. Or at least give you all the excess sleeve material I always end up with so it could somehow magically be tacked onto any too-short sleeves you have.

AG, the puff sleeves are a dealbreaker for me too, otherwise I would be trying it on.

Sveta, size up at least one size.

Petites, you will absolutely need to shorten these sleeves. I have long arms and Guess makes sleeves which are actually long enough for my gorilla arms.

Oh Angie, this is so tempting if the sleeves are long! It sounds like I need XL in this coat, right? Do you think puff sleeves are a big no for my wide shoulders?
Sara, I would swap with you any time: it is much easier (and at least always possible)to shorten the sleeves than to make them longer!

I almost got this coat too, but opted for a Miss Sixty one instead.

Guess runs small but not small enough for me to size up. Might differ from person to person.

I also haven't had an issue with the sleeves and I am petite. I guess I am an anomaly!
