Hi Angie & YLFers,

I have had some exciting news this morning but I am also 'stressing out' a little.

I have been invited to attend a meeting for Fashion Week (Bendigo) with a view to becoming involved as a stylist for the events, and possibly some event management (which is my background).

At the meeting will be some local store owners (one is a lovely friend who recommended me to the committee) and members of our local council. The meeting is Friday and I have gone blank... what do I wear?

I would like to look like I know what Im talking about i.e. well put together, but approachable and not too 'trendy'. I certainly don't think I fit the trendy/fashionista stereotype and that's not what I would be aiming for. I guess I want to look relateable (stylewise).

Any ideas would be much appreciated as I think the excitement has sent my little brain into a spin.

How very very exciting! My fingers are crossed for you. I would go for something simple with a twist: enough to stand out but not too flashy.

I don't have any advice but congratulations! What exciting news! I think you have a wonderful sense of style and also appropriateness, and have no doubt you will come up with something fabulous and perfect for the occasion.

I am sure Angie will have some good advice, but seriously Deborah, you could just about pick a look from random from your WIW and it would look good.

Congratulations Deborah, this is VERY exciting a sounds to be right up your alley!!
I would be aiming to incorporate an incoming trend, such as pastel colours, into your outfit. I am also thinking tailored pants with something on top that is a bit different, and , of course some Fab shoes and bag. Let us see pics of what you are considering too, of course.

That wasn't very helpful!! You know you look good - but you are going for appropriate, not too trendy etc. I still think most of your looks would be good - just cut out the ones where you are trying something new.
I am in awe of people who are good at events managment! Congratulations

ps. i like it when you incorporate red as an accent. on trend and a "power" color.

Congratulations you stylish creature! With such a vast personal "lookbook" you will pull out the perfect thing. Black and white together would be flop proof and adding one trendy piece would be fun! You are going to look fabulous!

Sounds like a great opportunity and you will be perfect for it! I think you have lots to chose from in your wardrobe. Maybe mix some prints and something vintage and of course your signature black. Good luck!
