Ask Angie et al: which sandal now?

I have been obsessing about the Miz Mooz Heather (Sarah, Sammi and Kellygirl all own it too, among others), but I haven't bought yet b/c I'm waiting for a more reasonable price (especially since I have to pay duty for US to Canada shipping). But now I find another similar sandal while browsing the Ecco website. Anybody familiar with this sandal yet?

The MM is a 3" heel with an 1" platform; the Ecco has a 2.75" heel and looking like an 1" heel platform as well.

I don't know that sandal but Ecco footwear is amazing for it's comfort and quality. Maybe Zappos has it with reviews?
Edit: Zappos didn't have it and I found no reviews.

I like Miz Mooz but that Ecco shoe is very very pretty.

I actually prefer the Eccos to the Miz Mooz--the Ecco is a bit more open in the front, which I think is so nice for summer.

Another question: could I wear either of these in fall with opaque tights? If I'm forking out over $150, I want multi-season use if possible.
My other sandals (t-strap wedges) are Eccos, so I am familiar with the quality.

I have long toes, so I would choose the Miz Mooz because the toe opening is smaller. Plus they have more color choices...do you need another brown sandal?

Ooo, Rosee, please buy the Miz Mooz! The other pair is nice as well, but the red pair… They are eye-poppingly beautiful. If the import tax really bothers you get the other pair, but WOW - every woman needs a pair of "knock 'em dead" red shoes.

Definitely will be getting the a brown pair -- I don't have brown sandals yet (just light olive) and I think I am very much wanting a brown clog sandal. Good for "bookending" with my brown hair too.

I tried the Ecco today at the mall after volunteering. I WANT!!! Very comfy! Very flattering on my foot (low vamp, kind of hides my short toes so they look normal). Now to justify the price somehow. The most I've blown on shoes was $300 on knee boots. I want to find the MMooz in town to compare. I have heard they are very good, but I have to order in from the US so far, so a little bit of risk is involved.

???: Can I wear either of these sandals with opaque tights in the fall? YAY /NAY or just meh?

Rosee, I think tights with sandals is a great look. My personal instinct would be to wear hose in the same colour family as the sandals, but here she didn't and it looks great:

Can you wear tights at the mall and try on again to know for sure if you like the look? (I would say try all of them, but I know you can't :()

As for which shoe to get I'm leaning towards the Ecco. I love the shape of the Miz Mooz, the Clarks are very cute too, and both would probably work best for MY feet.

But I see the Eccos and they just ooze simplicity and class. The fact you've been able to try them on and they work for you seals the deal for me.

If they are a quality shoe, and you need them now, and you'll get good CPW, the price is worth it.

If you don't need them now, wait and cross your fingers for your size on sale!

I think these would be great with tights in the fall, based on your color choice and the fact that they have sturdy, chunkier heels and substantive straps.

Can a 40-year-old wear the above-linked clog sandals with opaque tights in the cooler spring and fall weather (not a work outfit, unless business-casual)?

This over 40 would be willing to try the sandals with opaque hose. I think it would be cute. I think either clogdal you posted would work especially because of the darker colors. I'm not sure it would work well with my MM in Ice though.

It *could* work. But you have to be extra careful with all the elements of the outfit.

Quick update (then let the thread disappear down the ranks):

I got the Ecco sandal and am wearing them as we "speak" (write /read). LOVE"EM!!!
Very comfy. Currently wearing with socks and jeans around the house, and I like the look with hose. Will try them with tights tomorrow -- it will be a rainy grey day (not necessarily wearing them outside though). I'm hoping the CPW will be reasonable after a few years b/c I do plan to keep them for that long.
Hoping to post WIWs soon, so I'm sure you'll see my new sandals.

The Miz Mooz I also like but they seem like to much work to get -- especially now since we have Canada Post on strike for the past couple of weeks. I guess it wasn't meant to be, but I can live vicariously through the YLF posts of others.

I think you made a great choice with the Eccos. You sound like you really love them, and they are very good looking shoes. I like them better than the other 2 choices. I'm really loving that cushioned heel strap.

EGAD!!! I should have WAITED... the Eccos I bought are now on sale for $51 dollars less. I haven't worn them out of the house yet so they are new looking, but the receipt says returns within 10 days -- it will be 15 days tomorrow. I think I will ask the store for a return credit at any rate. Any advice about how to approach this and get my money back or a credit in store?

So glad you decided on which pair and are super happy with the fit.

Even if you don't get some money back they are still a great purchase as they are stylish, the colour you were looking for, probably work for fall and love your feet.
