Ask Angie et al: What should I focus on for Fall 2013?

I'm trying to budget for a November trip to Whistler and Australia in the late winter. So I was thinking of only adding a couple of things to my Fall/Winter wardrobe.
My only NAS purchase was these:

I bought the September issues of Lucky, Marie Claire and InStyle. Nothing has really grabbed me so far. I was lusting after some Isabel Marant pieces but her pricing has gone astronomical.
I think my opera capsule is sorted. Although I am considering selling my Stewart Weitzman platform slingbacks and getting a pair of single soled pumps.

Would it be helpful to think of what activities, outside of work and the opera, that you'd be doing in the Fall and Winter before settling on your purchases, Anna? You've got a pretty fabulous wardrobe already from what I've seen and I know you've talked about saving for your trips. I've a tendency to be an emotional buyer, especially when I feel overworked and under appreciated, so I've found applying a bit of logic helps curtail some of my wilder impulses.

Well I hopefully will be doing things like more happy hours and dinners out. Hiking season may go longer though.

Those lambskin pants are to die for! I'll bet they feel like buttah. I love your new commuter shoes!

You have an amazing and versatile wardrobe, but I suspect you fall into the same trap as the rest of us, you forget what you have or just plain yearn for something new. I don't know what you would need, because the way you dress is typically ahead of the curve, which is probably why nothing from the fall trends is grabbing you, you likely already have it or are beyond ;).

Have you looked at a leather moto vest or do you have one? It could amp up some of your denim looks. Also, maybe something silky for up top and dinners out. More time off in the future? Take time to dress for it! I love how you have upped your commuter game, your outfits have been lovely. Also, way to go on the posting in your limited time.
