Ask Angie, et al - DV Pali in Desert or Natural?

In March, I picked up the DV Pali in Desert, not knowing we'd have an eternal winter. I haven't even worn them yet.

Now I wonder if the Natural would be 'better', more versatile, or something? Nordstrom's isn't carrying the Natural Certainly not a major decision, but I'd love any and all input

(amazon's Desert is truer than piperlime's Desert, so maybe that's the case with Natural too?)

It seems like you should get the one that looks best with your skin tone, since either one is going to give you that neutral vibe. Do you tend to warmer (natural) or cooler (desert) skin tones? (Ah, but listen to me, as if I'm the big expert on neutral shoes now that I own exactly one pair! Hah! Take my advice with a grain of salt)

You're making me second guess myself, Sara! I have them in the Desert color--I think they tend more to the grey side where the Natural looks more pink. I was wondering the same thing when I ordered but decided the Desert color was more versatile because it would work through spring, summer and early fall. The "Natural" looks more summery to me--I have a pair of wedges that are close to that color and I only seem to wear them in the summer. Just my take. I think either would work for your coloring and palette. It's probably just a matter of personal preference. Does one of the colors fill a footwear gap?

Sarah said exactly what I was thinking -- if the desert ones look good with your skin tone, then keep those. Either color will create a nice, long, low-contrast look for your legs.

I got the "natural" one, they are very white/fair toned. They look good on my legs now, although they are ever so slightly lighter than my skintone, but I can see as the summer progresses and I get darker, they are not going to be as flattering. I'll probably be wearing them now through mid-July around here, after that they'll be too pale for me. So I guess it depends on your skin tone and how dark tanned you plan to be in the summer time.

sarah - my closet colors are all over the board, but I love all things taupe
kellygirl - You're right, the Desert IS better for early & late wear!
lynne - it's never too late
rae - my pale legs actually do have quite a contrast with the Desert!! but not like a brown or black
modgrl - I'm never tanned! Good to hear from real life that they're very light-toned

Um, magenta? Check those beauties out. Don't you have the MRKT in cognac? I would go for the lighter of the two nudes, but ultimately whatever works best with your skin?

Thanks, I'm glad to hear there's no big color reason I was overlooking!

I'm leaning toward keeping Desert - the late spring, early fall use and probably easier to keep clean

Heather - Love the magenta -- on someone else! I'm outside my comfort zone in this height and that's enough challenge for now

Now to just get warm enough weather to break them out. . .

Those are seriously sexy shoes. But although I'm usually very attuned to colour, I can't see a radical difference in colour. Enjoy them and I hope for the shoes' sake that summer comes soon, those shoes NEED to be worn!
