Ask Angie et al: a quick question about book ending

I've never really done book ending as my hair is brown and I've never really loved brown shoes. However while looking for winter boots I've fallen in love with some brown ones but am wondering how versatile they would be? My wardrobe neutrals are mostly black and grey so will brown boots automatically work with all colours because my hair is brown and they are book ending? X

ETA-probably over thinking this but does book ending with hair colour work if I'm wearing a grey hat? My typical cold winters day attire is dark purple puffer, grey hat, black gloves and grey bag so is adding brown boots going to look daft? X

I think so, dark brown leather is a neutral, too- but could you post a pictie, pls?
(Did you wear black boots before to this outfit?-I think the dark brown will do a good job as well, perhaps even better, if really bookending your hair)

I was in the same boat with brown hair and a preference for black clothing over brown. I bought a few pairs of brown boots in the last couple of years and they do get worn a lot. I wear brown with most colors and with black. It seems a bit softer than black and adds versatility given that I wear boots almost every day in winter (inside and out).

Speaking from the opposite side of the fence, where my preferred neutrals were brown and grey but my hair black, I think (a) all of these colours absolutely work together, and (b) not just because of your hair colour --- you can bookend with something else in your outfit as well (say belts or jackets with shoes) and that works too; your hair colour just gives you an extra, no-work option that you can wear with zero tweaking of a given outfit.

I bought dark brown riding boots and they are fantastic, with black or grey, but I haven't bought any other brown shoes. I also wear black or grey or blues.
The boots though - they are classic. They couldn't look out of place.
I think it will work.

Thanks all I'm so not normally into brown that it's a bit of a shock!! The boots are available in black but the brown is calling to me. I think they are a duck boot style is that correct? http://www.marksandspencer.com.....1348597953 I want them as a cold weather boot when it's snowy or icy x
