Angie - your post today on the DVF Becky silky shirt took my breath away. I love it on you and it's exactly what I've been looking for, for oh, a few years. The stretch silk material, the abstract animal print, the "lace" detail, the neutral colors....oh, Becky, I love you.

But, I just spent some money at NAS (your picks - the DVF Tinkit sweater, which I am still mulling over because of price only, and the Munro Robyn booties in leopard), and we've had a lot of moving expenses, so I should probably exercise some restraint given the price. But, oh! I really love this top, and I might be crushed if it sold out in my size.

Do you think it makes sense for me to keep the Tinkit sweater (which I also LOVE) and also get this one, given the following:

- I prefer a minimalist closet
- Just relocated to CA from the East Coast, so summer/spring will be dominant seasons. But it does get chilly in the morning and evenings.
- New job - as a professor, I'll look a little more polished than in the past as a grad student/postdoc. I like skirts and knit tops with cardigans, which I'm hoping to upgrade to simple jackets to add polish (not suits though - too formal). I also love dresses so I love that with a black skirt this top reads like a dress.
- I have 2 small children with often-sticky fingers and prefer easy care items. I don't do dry cleaning, but I wash my DVF wrap dresses in the washing machine on gentle with special soap, so that is still "easy care" to me. Would you feel comfortable hand-washing or delicate washing this shirt?
- Seems like lot of leopard - Tinkit, booties, shirt - but that's all the animal print in my closet, which is otherwise mostly black, red, pink/fuschia, or turquoise.

I wonder also about the amount of the blush color against my skin - I'm olive-toned, sort of light for a darker-skinned person. My face tends toward redness/blushing.

So...with all of that...what do you think? Keep the sweater and forget about this top, keep the sweater and buy the top? OR - Is there a reasonable proxy for this top at a lower price point?
