Hi Angie,

I'm thinking about trying these jeans in white but have a couple of questions for you.

What are your thoughts about longevity of the raw hem generally into the fall/winter? Into next year?
What do you think about sizing of these jeans? Size up/down/TTS?

Not Angie obviously, but I remember her saying that these jeans run large and to size down. I am very curious to hear her opinions on raw hem longevity too.

They have high longevity. The raw hem is no problem at all because fashion fads no longer exist. (If it makes you feel any better, these raw hems are very subtle).

They run big. Very big. I sized down, and also had to have mine altered to fit. But it was WORTH IT. They are currently my favourite jeans and I want to wear them all the time. I miss them when they are in the wash. Am thinking of duplicating.

Thanks Angie. What you say about fads makes so much sense to me. I may give these a try - I wish they weren't quite so expensive but if they work I think I will wear them a lot.

Viva, yes, I do. I currently have two cropped blue pairs, one straight and one skinny (attaching recent outfits below). I have been wanting these white C/Es for a while too, but price has been prohibitive.

I think you'll get so much wear out of these that the hem won't even be a factor. And not that anyone asked my opinion but..... I bet the raw hem moves into almost classic territory - it's not really trendy so much as a classic option now. It's denim. And the silhouette is classic too.

I have two pairs of raw hem, one being on the subtle side. The citizens crop skinnies I have in blue and wear so often that I feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of them just in a season.

I also own these and reach for them all the time. I worry that I might spill something on them and no longer be able to wear them. The hem is the "let out" hem with raw edge, but very subtle. Not noticeable like the blue let out hem (which I also love) but is harder to hem

IMHO the raw hem places them firmly apart from the Lilly Pulitzer crowd that I am surrounded by, without entering the fully distressed jeans realm.

FWIW I had to go down two sizes and am also going to take them in for alteration (waistband dart, maybe seat slim). Without alteration they're more BF on me and I want a sleeker fit.

Thanks Aida. I just ordered them - only one size down though. Hmmm. We'll see. I'm not sure how sleek I want the fit, and I have pretty solid thighs for my frame, plus I have no waist. But anyway, this size will be a start.

Thanks Tanya, BrieN, Lisa, and Lisap for your general endorsement of raw hems. I like that they are not clean and polished, and I think they will be great with booties and big knits. It's interesting to think of them as another classic denim style, but since I remember them from my own youth, it does make sense. I hope these work for me!
