Ask Angie: Cap sleeves

Angie, I have not worn this short sleeve jacket for a number of years. It feels very 2008 or so because of the puffy capped sleeve. It is fabulous quality, pure cotton, no stretch, from Woolworths. This year I have been wearing it fairly often in the evenings, feeling it more than my Levis cut-off (by me) jacket. But I don't want to look like I am in a time warp....

I like that jacket and I like the way you’ve done it in the pic - I think you’ve got camo with it? To me prettying it up with jewelry and suit trousers and heels would be ‘so 2008.’

… the modern moment is rougher IMO… be ready to run from extreme weather…

Thanks Rachylou! Yes is with my camo skirt. I usually wear it with this skirt or white cotton shorts. Definitely not in a dressed up kind of way. But then I am not a dressed up kinda gal.

Thanks Angie! Good idea, I will try it with long sleeves soon. Can you believe, we are going from minimum 20 degrees at night currently to minimum 7 degrees next week! I miss Woolies.

Zaeobi sounds cute but not a fan of double denim in similar shades for myself. Maybe with white jeans, although do not fit into my 2 pairs currently :(. Have a task for winter to get back to my regular shape.

Angie fortunately the weather forecast has been updated and no we will not be minimum 7 next week! Gosh that is extreme even for here.

7! Berlin has been starting to feel like fall too. It’s too early. I’m glad your forecast was revised.

I think the jacket does look 80s/90s, in a way that’s on trend. I like the hood stripes with it. For long sleeves, I’d think something fitted.

Thanks Stag for weighing in! Yes definitely fitted for long sleeves. We have had a long heat wave, so looking forward to cooler temps. But not too cool too quick IFYWIM.

Anne In SA some bigger Woolworth have a food section and a clothes section, usually on different floors. Both excellent quality. I miss the Woolies food too!

We have Big W in Australia, which is owned by the Australian Woolworths. It is similar in style to KMart - a big box discount department store.

Great jacket! You should wear it as a summer third piece. For me, the short sleeves would make it more practical than a long sleeve denim jacket.

Bijou thanks for your input. Woolworths clothes in SA are not discount stores. Interesting the differences. Oh, and Country Road, Witchery and Trenery are Woolworths brands in SA, or only available in woolworth stores. Thanks for the love for the jacket too. I am going to keep it.

Brooklyn I have been wearing it as a third piece this summer. It has been way too hot for a denim jacket with sleeves. Thanks for your valuable input.
