I got some birthday money & returned some new with tags items I didn't love & sold some things I don't wear & decided with my girl math that the all that money came from nowhere, outside of normal budget, so I justified a Burberry trench.
I have 3 different Burberry trench coats in these pics. I'm not sure on fit. I'm not happy with roomier ones on me but the smaller size allows less layers. Now I'm wondering if I need to allow for many or bulky layers. I have a wool coat that allows all those layers & is warmer just by being a thick wool. Wouldn't I just wear that when it is cold? I guess for traveling though, it's easier to take a light coat with many layers.
Pics 1, 2 & 3 - Sz 6 Queenshouse. Set in sleeves more tailored with princess seems. Buttons close together. Due to the tailored fit it looks great without layers. Too short for dresses I think at 35", I do prefer longer, but it shows a size 6 on me. This fits tee shirt, cashmere sweater & thick wool felt blazer that is slightly roomy on me since weight loss. I think it bunches too much when cinched & is slightly too big at shoulders. Sleeves look wider than photos of celebs & Burberry models on the web.
Pics 4 & 5 - Size 4 Kensington without layers. This is black & looks better than honey in pics as it is harder to see bagginess so maybe I need to get more pics of it in honey. I will be buying honey I think. Set in sleeves. Longer length at 37". Buttons wider apart. Not as tailored so roomier therefore not needing a size 6 for layers. Looks too baggy in body. Sleeves look too wide.
Pics 6 & 7 - Kensington layered with a dress, light cashmere sweater & light blazer.
Pics 8, 9 & 10 - Size 4 Newforest without layers. Back looks snug but it is partly due to me twisting to take pic & I can't remember really if the back shot was with or without layers. This is tailored with princess seams & buttons closer together. Longer length at 37". Raglan sleeves allow a little more room for layering under but body still very fitted. Shoulders aren't as sharp as set in Queenshouse sleeve but the length is better than that one. Looks great with just a dress under it, except for wideness of sleeves. Would it fit if I gained weight? Should I shop for size I am now.
Pics 11 & 12 - Size 4 Newforest with dress, sweater & blazer. Blazer has stiff peplum sticking out too. Fits very snug but allows all the movement of arms etc. Would be too tight with a sweater & thicker blazer or leather jacket perhaps. Wouldn't fit layers if I gained weight, though I wont be buttoning it all the way to neck most of the time.
The size 6 Queenshouse & the Size 4 Kensington don't look as fitted as your trench coats do Angie so I'm leaning towards the sz 4 Newforest. I'm not sure if that is a foolish choice for weight gain or layers.
