Ask Angie: black tie optional outfit?

InSeptember in NC, I have a "black tie optional" fund raising event to attend. I have a sleeveless LBD that I could wear but it seems a bit boring. Any other suggestions? I look best with a collar and would love to wear pants but I will wear a dress. I'm 57 and 5'3". About a size 6 or 8. A low heel is all I can manage.

Lynn, nice to see you! I suggest you take a look at Angie's latest "FINDS." She has selected some dresses from NAS that might fit the bill. I think you could also wear le smoking, if you could find a nice version.

Also, she might not be able to check in over the next few days as she is super busy with clients.

Personally, which may not be right for you, I would wear my tuxedo pants, a white silk blouse and my pink silk tie-front blazer. Add some pearls and diamond studs with some 1" pumps. Good to go!
