Please suggest tops and footwear if it is a go.

Ooooh...hi Angie! Thank you for your reply. I don't know how to do that link thing, unfortunately. The pants are thin horizontal white stripes on black background. I wonder if it is too casual/far out/eye catching...to wear at my age of 58 years I like a Hepburn vibe more than Annie Hall. I guess a dress would work but dislike pantyhose. Also, my bottom is very flat and slim hips...no curves!

Connie, I like the pants, but they seem ever so casual for an evening wedding, don't you think? The fabric might be dressy but that sporty stripe dresses down the look.

You need a fitted short jacket to wear over the pants, and heels that will achieve perfect pant lengths.

Thanks to everyone for chiming in...I appreciate your help. I went to Coldwater Creek and tried on the striped pants...gee, I'm not as tall and slim as I thought!!!
The pants ARE too casual for the wedding and even as casual wear they didn't flatter me. Checked out the links from you all and have the wide pants information. Guess I'll wear a dress and panty hose.....or white suit slacks with pretty top and jacket. If slacks, then fitted jacket will dress it up as you say.

Connie shame about the pants. I wanted to wear something a bit more fashion forward to a wedding in a couple of weeks but I have ended up erring on the side of conservatism and have a lovely dress which I will wear with pumps. Simple but elegant (I hope). So if not a dress the white slacks could be stunning.

Thanks, Deborah. Same for my idea....will feel more confident in a conservative look and I like feeling that my clothes are appropriate rather than drawing attention. I hope you have a great time at the wedding!
