I have received my denim order from Armani Exchange. I ordered 2 sizes of jeans that are 98% cotton and 2% stretch. I don't know if I should expect them to shrink, so want them to fit a bit loose before washing. Or should I expect the cotton to stretch out and get baggie, so I'd want them a bit snug before washing. I emailed customer service and got a generic answer. It said that their clothing is made to be the expected size before washing, but if it is cotton or other natural fiber expect shrinkage characteristic of the fiber, or something to that effect.
One size fits just right coming out of the box, the other size is a bit to snug. I'm afraid to wear or wash them because I don't know how they will react.
Any advice?

They shouldn’t shrink if you don’t put them in the drier. It’s hard to tell San. Do you think you can show us you in each pair?

I've found that, at least for me, jeans always stretch and fit looser than they did when I bought them. I would go with the snug ones.

Just recently I bought 2 pairs of jeans, different brand than yours but they are 99% cotton and 1% spandex. I went with one pair that was quite tight at first and one that was a bit tight. After wearing them a few times and one wash (cold water, hang to dry) I wish I'd gone a size smaller in both.

I read somewhere that jeans with stretch in them tend to stretch in the butt/hips area and shrink in length, if anywhere. Not sure how true this is, it was just some random website.

Jeans with a stretch will probably stretch out. I generally get get all my jeans a little tight, and after a day's wear, the fit is just right.

Thanks for the advice.
I am posting pictures I had my grand daughter take so hopefully you will be able to tell the difference in the 2 sizes. My delima is on the shrinking and then strtching out aspect of the fit.
I usually buy my jeans at Nordtrom's and they advise you what size to buy and tell you if they are wrong after wearing and washing to bring them back. Can't do that in this case.
I must say I love the feel of this denim and the way the pockets are placed.
Also showing are the Mee Too Swann flats that someone had posted were on sale for $20. I couldn't resist, and they are my first pair of ballet flats.

Hmm. My notes on the pictures didn't show up.
The first front and back set is the larger size. The next set is the smaller size.
Then we go to the capris and the first set is the smaller size and then the last set is the bigger size.

Thankyou for the compliment and advice on the size. Yes the third and fourth pictures are the smaller size.
Seeing ones self in pictures really throws a different light on things.

Thanks for posting the photos San. I actually managed to figure out which ones were smaller before reading your further description.

I'd definitely go for smaller size in both pairs. You have such a nice figure and both jeans look amazing on! And the Swanns are very cute on you too.

Go with the smaller size because most jeans do stretch out a bit. I love those styles on you!

Wow! You look fab in those jeans! Perfect in the smaller size for sure. You are a little hottie and look SOOO Parisian in your skinnies and flats (minus the T-shirt of course). We are Swann flat twins. I have a black pair too.

And those clamdiggers look KILLER rolled up a little shorter. That lengthens your leg line beautifully. Thanks for posting pics! Love it!

Oh thanks, thanks, thanks for the help. You're all great. What a fantastic means of getting unbiased opinions.
My 12 year old Grand daughter took the pictures. She said, "You're getting so many new clothes and they're so cute". Ha Ha!
She's going to take some more pictures for me today so there will be another thread for you who care to critic my purchaces.
I'll give you a hint though. DVF has way out there taste in color! The jacket/top I ordered is the strangest shade of green I've ever seen. (And I love green) I don't think it's a keeper.
Another thing my Grand daughter asked is why am I getting all the new clothes when I always wear THAT kind of stuff, meaning the T-shirt and kacki cargo shorts, and flip flops I had on all day. I don't know how to incorporate nicer clothing into a retired lifestyle. My 'go to' is always the junk drawer.
