Not Angie, but animal print footwear is huge this season (again), faux fur vests are in, but this season we see them in different colors and I see a lot of capes too.
Well, at least that's what we are seeing here in Europe!

I just stopped into our Barney's Coop yesterday and they had a full assortment of gorgeous (and pricey) fur vests. I chatted with the sales associate about it because I was surprised to see them. She said they were still going strong.

I am wearing my animal print shoes and am on the look out for a flat or low heeled pair to complement my collection of animal print heels.

Can't comment on the ponchos. I have one that I enjoy but I don't find them practical for my lifestyle. I am constantly having to adjust it to fall just the right way. I don't like wearing clothes that I have to mess with throughout the day.

Animal print footwear is always in style. Such a modern classic - although it's also very on trend. I love it when the classics become it items.

Faux fur vests, jackets and coats have a retro '70s (and '50s) element to them. Also always in style.

Capes, same kind of retro integrity.

Ponchos are harder. Some look avant-garde and pretty timeless, while others look dated to my eye. It depends on the style.

Is my vintage plaid cape still ok to wear (see pic below)? I always feel very Sherlock Holmes in it - lol!

I love that cape! You look terrific in it. And I also like the bag, incidentally. It looks a bit like one that I thrifted recently. It's quickly become a favorite.

Shannon, is there anything you can't wear? So many different looks are terrific on you. Partly it's your smile and attitude. You photograph so well.

The cape is great on you, Sherlock in the best ways. Lots of personality and presence yet classic.

I liked the question you asked. Yesterday I almost laughed when I saw a cape/poncho on the cover of a Talbots catalog. They're either still hot or so old they're dying, I thought. Talbots can have some beautiful, modern and classic pieces and they can be turn-your-head frumpo. Glad to have the answer to the question of capes for this season.
