Ask Angie: Appropriate shoes for a sangria burgundy dress for a formal wedding.

Hello!

I am going to a formal wedding later in THIS month and I still do not have my outfit completely figured out. My dress is a sangria burgundy cocktail dress and I am almost clueless as to what shoes would go well. I was thinking an open toe low-heel burgundy type of shoes would go well but I have little idea if this is appropriate.

I am obviously not Angie, but you could wear lots of different shoes. In terms of color, silver to go with the detail on the dress, black, burgundy, nude, even a contrasting color like hot pink. In terms of shape nice pumps or sandals of any kind would work.
Why do you think your burgundy shoes won't be appropriate?

I did not mean to right that in my opening. Sorry for any confusing I may have created.

I was unsure if burgundy shoes with a burgundy dress would be to much of the same color. I was also unsure what shoes would be appropriate for a formal wedding. I am not very knowledgeable in this area of expertise. (I don't go shoe shopping very often! )

Could I ask of you a question regarding jewelry with this dress as well? I am unsure what to consider, I was thinking either silver or burgundy again but I don't want to be plain!

No worries, Natasha Burgundy would not be too if you already have them, but as Angie says, silver shoes would probably be the best, and you could wear them with lots of different things later.

As for the jewelry, I would probably go for earring/bracelet, something in the cool tone family: silver, gunmetal, pink, pearls... The only thing to stay away from would be gold.

I do not have shoes yet so I think I will go with silver/metallic. Is a necklace not necessary?

You are very welcome, Natasha! Two pieces of jewelry is more than enough, three would have been an overkill, especially with the sparkly detail on the dress. You can even get away with just a single piece, that would look very elegant, especially if you get silver shoes.
