ask angie and others: styling a safari dress

I am so tempted to order this safari dress but it does not have sleeves so I would need some way to cover the arms. I did some internet picture searches but no examples are ever shown with anything under or over a safari dress. Can it be done?

I would prefer an idea for a type of shirt to have under it, thanks gals!

Hi Jayne, I have a safari dress that I wear as tunic over skinnies, but mine has short sleeves.

I think that the one you picked is lovely and I can see it working well layered over tissue thin white tee. In general I think that simple knits would work best.

I really like that style too, but I think it would be best to wait and look for one with sleeves. There were quite a few in stores last year, so maybe you will strike gold. I can't picture a good topper or under layer that would preserve the sharp look of the dress.

It's really pretty. I'd be tempted to wear it sleeveless although I usually prefer sleeves.

Merideth, I am tempted but right now it is soooo cold that anything without sleeves seems crazy. I might have to wait another month before I can be sure of no more snow/frost. Sad face.
