OK, I thought my low-heeled black bootie search was solved, with the purchase of the Fluevog Genevieve: http://www.fluevog.com/code/?item=genevieve

It is *exceptionall*y comfortable, and I'm anxious to wear them. However, one other pair has stuck in my mind, the Alexander Wang Kori: http://www.shopbop.com/kori-ox.....eviewsArea

I have zero experience with anything Alexander Wang, so I don't even know if the fit and comfort would be comparable to the Fluevogs, but from a stylistic point of view, I'm wondering if I should satisfy my curiosity and order the Wang booties for comparison. They're both expensive, so what's another $50?

The Fluevogs have a bit more punk edge, and the Koris are a bit simpler. I like that the Koris are a little more sophisticated. The downside of the lower vamp on the Koris is that they won't come up high on the ankle to camouflage the short jeans I have, like my distressed AGs.

I'd like to get your opinions. The Fluevogs met with an enthusiastic response when I posted them, but I'm guessing that anyone who wasn't a fan probably stayed quiet. When you look at these two, which do you see working best for my style as I continue honing the sophisticated urban rock look? I want to be able to wear these for years to come, so I want distinctive without being something that screams "I bought these in 2013".

What do you think? Am I overthinking this (like I've been doing lately)?

The AW shoes are a nice, classic design (I mean they will eternally look cool, in a chic, understated way).

You're right, and I think this is a shoe meant to be worn with long skinny or straight-leg jeans.

I also am questioning whether $450 can be justified for this shoe. Not saying it shouldn't, I just don't know. It seems expensive.

I think the Fluevogs are a better choice for longevity than the AWs. Fluevogs exist in their own time stream and don't really age out in my opinion. Those AWs look kind of awkward to me in the vamp area, almost unfinished or rough looking in the toe cap too. The cutaway heel is nifty though.

I like the vogs, the other ones are so non descriptive, even for me. they also feel too masculine for you. I also think I need a taller boot to balance my hips, for less of an ice cream cone effect. Do you feel the same?

The AW are very cool, I wond how sturdy the heel would be with the cut out portion? Also, do you prefer the higher shaft of the first ones, or lower like the AW?

I prefer the Fluevogs by about a billion percent. The AWs are nice but more common looking to my eye. The Fluevogs are Just. So. Cool.

I agree with Una and others. The Vogs will have more longevity because they have a certain artistic flair to them. Rockstar art, if you will. The AWs seem like they stick more closely to the trend without diverging anywhere to become something in a league of their own.

Hmm, between the two I would go with the Fluvogs as well. The shorter style on the AWs is difficult to work in black especially. What about the AW Anouk? Those have been on my wish list all winter, but I bought too many black boots, lol. They may be too high up the ankle for you, but I think those are a destined to be a classic.

The AW do not look like a "sophisticated urban rock" shoe (for example, I would not wear those and my shoe taste is even less rocker than yours though I also shoot for the same look as you). I vote Fluevogs of these two, without contest.

Tina, yes! The Anouck would be more like it! I thought I had seen a higher version with that heel, and that's it. But that's pretty darn expensive.

Y'all are making me feel good about the Fluevogs. They are so comfy, it would be hard to beat them in that category. And I agree that Fluevogs sort of defy trend -- they're in a league of their own, so to speak.

I'm just feeling your pain on black booties - workhorses extraordinaire. I ended up having to get a pair as my others totally were non wearable, I have been looking for about 2 years, and my shoe size is so rare that my options are limited... I know I am not 100% happy but I have some to wear so follow your instincts on this one... you will not remember the extra $50 in a year's time Personally I think they are both nice, but different looks so depends on what is more comfortable and most versatile.... good luck!

the anouck are awesome...but i still prefer the fluevogs. this coming from a non-color wearer.

i may just splurge for these myself!

I think the Fluevogs are very you, and amazing boots. Buy them, and love them with no regrets. The Anouks are a bit of a different creature entirely, yet definitely drool worthy. We can both add them to our wish lists for next winter.

Late to the party, but I like the Fleuvogs. More character (and your style) than the Wangs. And footwear is 80% comfort right? (it should be more, but let's be honest here)

This is great and very helpful, thank you! I've really been trying to practice the PPP principle on this search, and the fact that there were only two pairs left of those Fluevogs in the entire country made me feel like I'd better pounce if I wanted to give them a try. Then came the second-guessing. I do love the Vogs and I'm gonna wear them tomorrow!

The Vogs. In black AND blue so you can wear the blue ones for me! The AWs are very nice in a conservative way. I like the cut-out in back, but I LOVE the Vogs on you. And yes, I'm a Vogger but I don't think I could ever pull them off or find ones that would work for my fussy feet.

The AW shoes look too classic and masculine, plus that style of vamp (cut straight across the ankle) is *really* hard to wear with anything that shows the top of the shoe.

The AWs honestly look like men's shoes to me. The vamp is more loafer than bootie. Love your Fluevogs.

I love the Fluevogs on you! I saw them and thought that they were very "Janet". Sorry I missed the original posting.

I have tried the AW's - it's a style that very much fits into my own style persona - and they are quite comfy although you might need to size down half a size. At the moment, they don't scream "JANET" to me like the Fluevogs do.

I like the Vogs for you. The wangs are nice, but not nearly as Rocker, and not feel like you. The Vogs work in all the ways you want them to and are super comfy.

These Vogs were meant to be yours.

And as others have noted, Vogs are artsy, so they seem to have their own trend time stream. I cannot say that about the others at all.

I'm one of the silent masses who loved the Fluevogs but remained silent, weeping quietly because I can't afford them. The AWs are going to be the shoes that look very 2013.
