Well, I OWN the booties! And so does Krishnidoux (she put me onto them). And let me tell you this: I share your perception at times that they look a bit witchy. Sometimes I find myself looking down at them and thinking, "REALLY?"
BUT, at the same time, I love, love, LOVED wearing them last year. They are the most comfortable things going, and they are an amazing bootie with dresses/ skirts because the ankle is adjustable so you can make them perfectly snug. Also, the narrow front of the shoe is elongating to the leg. The helps to prevent the dreaded STUMP factor. They are lightweight, flexible, and not too high a heel. This means they are very packable, and very versatile.
I find that with my rather muscular legs, they are too dainty (and a bit "witchy) with legging type jeans. I much prefer them with black trousers or with dresses and tights.
So, that's my review!
Oh, to add - in terms of style persona - they are quite "arty" feeling. Maybe urban arty is what you might call them.
ETA: I was wearing one of these booties in a post today with the top that Celia sent, and I will wear them again in a post later tonight or tomorrow, so you can see them on someone.
