Ask Angie and Others: Fit of these Shoes

I was traveling and decided I needed really good, stylish shoes that could go the distance for me. I ordered these based on (1) color and construction, and (2) recommendations on the Nordstrom site. They only came in medium and that concerned me, but I liked the color combination and styling enough to order them.

Does anyone with a wide-width foot have experience with these shoes? I would not wear socks in these shoes.

They look nice. I tried something similar in the same brand a while back. The top would accommodate a wide foot but the fabric was too thin for my liking, I thought the price should be lower for a thin fabric shoe so I returned them.
That said, the weather is different where you live and they may work for you.

Sterling - I've got a different iteration of the zerogrand and I have a medium foot. I used to consider it on the narrow side of medium, but too narrow hasn't been working well for me these days. I put in a replacement insole that was thicker to take up more room, but I needed to take room on the top of the shoe. So my experience is slightly wide, but I wouldn't say more than that. Hope others who've tried on this exact one can help more.

I think I tried these on in late spring and if I remember correctly, they were a bit stretchy. They were fine for me - I have a straight up wide forefoot in a 6.5. I didn't get them because I ended up with a high top Ecco Soft 8, but I recall them fitting similarly across the foot.

Sterling, I love those sneakers! I do not have Cole Haan sneakers but a pair of low wedges. In general, I feel that the brand is a bit on the narrow side in a regular size. Have you tried the next size up? That can sometimes work for me in that brand.

OMG! These are ADORABLE. When you look at the shoe and then look at my foot, you think there is absolutely no way the geometry can work. Yet, they fit!!!!!!!

Well, in truth, I did only walk from the dining room to the living room, but they fit!!! I wonder if this is wishful thinking? I will try them again tomorrow and walk a little further.

OH NO!!! My BF has convinced me to return them. He looked at my foot and then looked at the shoe and started talking about me not even being able to walk a mile in them. I am genuinely sad.

I would recommend them to anyone with a narrow or medium foot. They look SO GOOD on the foot. And the grey looks a bit like suede (very dressy). The pink just looks happy.

Hi Srah -- I finally agreed with him because I thought even if I could walk a mile in them, the width of my foot would put undue stress on the shoe and they would probably breakdown faster than they would under other circumstances. Wide feet suck.

I'm not sure I agree with you or BF. Inge has two pairs of these in the suede. She has wide feet, a very high instep, AND wears an orthotic. These are the very few pairs of shoes in her closet right now that will go the distance.

I would also look at the range of Go Walk Sketchers, since you're looking.

Here is another one in a C width - blingy but so fun! The website also has quite a few C widths of a variety of version of this - just not all on sale. Were they true to size for you?
