I have completely skipped even considering boyfriend jeans as an option due to my personal issues with shorter pants lengths, i.e. to me anything short just screams "I couldn't find the right size so I had to settle for *this*". Sort of why I avoided 3/4 lenght sleeves until a few years back, they too reminded me of too many blah purchases in the past that just had to do while being so obviously short.
Anyway, fast forward to present and I have been on a real hunt for a new pair of skinnies for a few months with no sign of success. I desperately need a new pair of jeans, but those can't be bootcuts because they can't be tucked in the boots and have soaking-friendly long hems when in PPL.
Obviously, shopping in ladies' section would leave me with identical tweeny sizes and I'm not going to put myself through that... so, should I simply go to men's department and look there for some ancestor of what we call boyfriend jeans?
If so, should I bear anything additional in mind (other than going to ladies' side of the store to the changing room ) in terms of the fit?
I can't believe I'm asking this openly, but after today's fiasco at a few stores I had high hopes from, I am getting a bit desperate...
