I do not currently own a leather jacket (tragic, right?) and I think I would like to have one. I would really appreciate some suggestions as to a good style / brand for a 50+ apple with a short torso. I think a petite might be best; I probably need a 12/14 or XL depending on the cut.

I wear a lot of black and gray, denim, white and brights. Would a black jacket be best or would another color be better? I have a fear of dressing too young or like I am trying too hard.

Yesterday I placed an order for several items from the NAS but am certainly willing to order a few to try.

Edited to add: I am also open to hearing that a leather jacket is not the best choice for me.
