I see these "t-shirt bouses" on websites and on pinterest - what are they?

What makes it a t-shirt blouse instead of a blouse or a t-shirt?

Are they woven or knit construction? Or either one? Or both?

Are they just any top that's nicer than a t-shirt?

I'm confused by the pictures I see (a few examples attached) - all are called "t-shirt blouse" by the sites selling - but it looks to me like #1 and #4 are knit, and #2 is a pullover woven, and #3 is a normal button-down shirt.

shirt shaped like a tee but in "blouse" fabric, i think. but i'm not clear pn this.

If you ask me, #2 is the only "tee shirt blouse". T-cut and silky. #1 and 4 are just "tees", because they are knit. #3 is a "silky button front blouse", not a tee.

Might be a search manipulation thing, wanting to get hits for both the words "t shirt" and "blouse."

However, there is a new kind of garment that Angie blogged about that is shaped like a boxy tee but made from a woven fabric. That is what I think of when I hear "t-shirt blouse" in the new sense.

I think it is in the knit - my aunt was telling me this was a really trendy thing in HK to have a blouse "knit" that was in the shape of a t-shirt (sort of like your pic #1)

Hmm... thanks for you input - I think Denise is probably right that websites selling these "t-shirt blouses" are probably just trying to get hits for both search keywords. I had thought that they were woven shirts, in the tee shape, like #2. I'll stick with that until I hear or notice otherwise

A woven shirt with knit sleeves would be multimedia, or something like that, right? (I don't know if it exists - but I'm thinking of making one, just to try it out).
