Hi everyone. I'm sorry I haven't been around as much I'd like to be. But, everything is almost ready for the big day! And thank you Diana for the idea of putting the guys in gray!

I need a bit of help, though. I've been working on jewelry and I feel like I'm about to hit overload. I've got my hands covered with my great grandmother's ruby ring, my garnet (maybe), and wedding band. Below is a pic of my dress. Because of my dress's illusion neckline, I'm not going to wear a necklace. And for all of the pictures I've seen, it looks like linear-and-drop earrings my be the way to go. I've been cruising on Etsy, Nordstrom and a few other sites and have found a LOT of earrings. I've narrowed it down to the ones below. I'm sticking with gold colored earrings. I'm still not sure if I want to go with either clear crystal or red crystal earring. I will not be wearing that birdcage veil like I am in the pic.

In short, what do you think about the pairs below. From what I can tell online, the sizes are about right. Do you have experience with Givency, Nadri or Kate Spade? Or if you have an idea, I'd love to hear it.

I wish I'd worn more classic earrings for my wedding, so that I would be more likely to wear them again for our anniversary dinners, but the ones I picked are just too...bridal. I'm sentimental, but they don't work with anything but strictest black tie, and even then I almost always choose something else.

What shoes? Red?

My shoes will be red, Rambling Ann. I've seen earrings like the ones you posted, but the only thing I worry about is them being a bit too casual. My plan is to be able to wear the earrings when I need to dress up for work/other weddings/etc down the road. Thanks so much though for the suggestion!

You look lovely! Exciting! Hmm... my first thought is have you tried on various earring shapes with the outfit (irrespective of the detail of the earring) just to get a sense of how a drop versus a stud for example would look? And the size you want to aim for? Because of the detail of the dress and veil/headpiece, my first thought was just plain pearl studs or maybe red studs.

Thanks Rabbit. I'll try on a few designs next to the dress, if that makes sense. I'm not wearing the headband I'm wearing in the pic. It was one that I tried at the salon. I wasn't wild about the veil, it's still a nice pic of the dress.

Yay red shoes! I like the Etsy ones a lot. I like the idea of bookending the shoes with the earrings. Makes it seem (to me) a little more intentional. It's a bold and wonderful choice, no point in trying to downplay it.

Agree with @rabbit that a lot depends on hair and headpiece. If you had some red crystals in a hair ornament, for example, I might go with simple studs.

I think any of your choices will work, and if I were just picking my favorites in general I like the double drops.

However, I'm wanting to see the outliers -- the "flower" earrings -- with it. IMO there's a bit of whimsy there that matches the dress.

I'm thinking simple pearl or diamond studs actually. There is a lot going on with the neckline and gorgeous head piece already. Ornate drop earrings might seem too much. What do you think? I like the Kate Spade pearl flowers too. Playful. xo

Ahh, you are so pretty. I love the last etsy listing! That being said, what is the sparkle on your dress? Is it crystal like or more white pearly? I would mimic with the earring. Plus the vibe of the dress is retro, I would take that into consideration too. Thanks for letting us in on fun

Thanks Rabbit. I should have explained my plan, hair-wise. My hair is going to be like the bottom pic on the left, just a bit longer. My plan is to make make a thin headband or clip using a flower similar to this one on etsy. I'm not going to go with the crystal center, though. I'm still on the fence about putting a birdcage veil with it. I don't think I'll be adding any red to my headpiece.

I was thinking that earrings would make it kindda like bookending, Ann. My awesome maids are going to be wearing that shade of red as well. Since everyone can see my shoes, I figured I could have fun with it.

If I was going with that headpiece, then you're right Angie. The fancy earrings would be too much. I'm going with a smaller headpiece, so I think I can get away with something a little bigger.

Good call Marin. My sparkles in my dress are sequins and pearls. I wonder if either of these might go with my dress better.

Oh my gosh! Your dress and shoes are so lovely!!!

I tend to agree with Angie that pearl studs would be the way to go. Even with a very simple headpiece. I really think drop earrings would fight with even a small headpiece. (I think the earrings in the top right pic are fighting with the headpiece even though both are fairly simple.)

Maybe ruby studs? Wouldn't that be fun??

My first thought was diamond (or faux) studs for a simple sparkle that would not compete with the detail on the dress. Your dress is gorgeous and you are going to be a stunning bride K.

What a beautiful dress! I would go simple with the earrings for sure. The drop ones are lovely, but I'd choose the less ornate ones personally. Studs would be nice as well. I don't think you can go wrong on your special day - you look gorgeous.

You look so beautiful! I love the pear shaped ones in the 5th picture (second row center). My mother tried to get me to wear her simple pearl drop earrings but I was already wearing her dress so I needed to make the accessories my own. I went for a more elaborate style of earring similar to the ones you've chosen, and I've never been sorry. You'll know how much veil you need once you try them on and get your hair fixed. Your red shoes sound like a lot of fun. Best wishes on your big day!

I love pearl jewelry for this dress, and agree studs would be great, or a small drop. I don't think you need sparkle so much but the lustrous white of pearl near your face would look lovely.

Yes, I will be wearing my specs.

I'm a bit uncertain when it comes to stud earrings. I have 2 holes in each ear and the bottom ones are not even. To me, it's very noticeable with a stud earring, but not very noticeable with a longer earring.

I can see wear it looks like the headpiece and earrings could be fighting. If the headpiece may be too much, I'd be fine dropping it. I haven't started to make it yet. Or, if I go with a pearl earring, maybe I can do one of these headbands I saw at Ulta the other day. The first one just has 1 row of tiny pearls going across and the other has 3 rows of small pearls.

Definitely a VERY simple earring if you're set on wearing your specs with head gear. It also sounds like you really want to wear drop earrings so go for it, sweet K. Perhaps find the least ornate pair. xo

Of the first batch, I think my favorite is the Nadri pave teardrops. But I think I like the Anne Klein pearl ones you posted later even better. I really like the very last pair you posted too. I'm having a hard time visualizing how they'd look with a headpiece, but especially can't see the last pair competing at all.
