Ask Angie and Everyone! Glasses: The Final Frontier EDIT: Better quality pics

I hope this is the last batch, as I am soooo tired of looking. I'm also tired of taking endless selfies in the optical stores, all the while muttering, "I hope I'm not the only one who does this!"

So here they are:

#1, #2, and #3 are the same frame, different colors. Someone from one of my previous threads (so sorry, my bad, I don't remember who) suggested I see if the frames in #3 came in other colors. They did, and the store ordered them for me to try. #1 is blue (really a blue purple), #2 is red, and #3 is plum.

#4 is just the red and the blue frames. #5 is a red/pink frame and #6 is two toned blue.

The frames in #1-#3 are the smallest in width at 49mm. The frames in #4 and #5 are larger.

So these are the best that I've found in all the stores. Is there a winning frame here or keep looking? My fingers (toes too) are crossed that you'll all tell me I don't have to go to any more optical stores and take any more selfies!

BTW, I do have a favorite, I'll tell ya later

EDIT: Pic #7 and pic #8 are (hopefully) a bit better quality. #7 is the blue frames, #8 is the red frames.

I feel for you, I was glad when I could stop searching! I like the red frames in #2 best.

Karie, I like frame 2 best. The color is very nice. The pic is a bit blurry. I also like the frame in 6. They are so different. 2 is a low contrast soft look, and 6 is higher contrast. It depends what you want.

I'm going to vote for the first frame but in plum (I think, it's hard to see the colors). Image #3.

Agree with Astrid -- glasses shopping can be almost as bad as swimsuits! I like 1; though I also find myself drawn to 6. I can't tell from the pic: does 6 have a band of different colour on the top, or is that just the angle of the photo?

OK, not sure I will guess right, but I like #1 in the plummy shade, though I can't see the colors that well. I like in theory the light rim of #6 to be kind of different, and that type of rim or inner color in white or silver is trendy, but think it's too wide for your face and maybe aging. I think though you are a very pale blonde, the warmer plum tone is better. I like the curving lines of frame #1 with your face and brow shape--they seem to "belong" there.

I like #2. I just got glasses and agree it's so hard! My 22yo daughter, on the other hand, looked cute in almost every one she tried on! haha

Can you bring home your favorites to try on and think about? I did that with Costco, I bought the frames and then returned them. I had so many different ones at home at different times, until I could decide. I know other places would have let me do that, too.

Karie, this is a great learning exercise for me (still searching). I like #1/2. They fit and the shape is flattering and I like both of these colours on you. I also like #6. Size looks fine and the two tone is very flattering. Not helpful right?

The shape and size are really nice for you and I think all of the colors would work equally well since they are all cool colors. I might go with plum or red if I were you to create more contrast with your eye color.

It's exhausting work isn't it! Sometimes I feel like a 'specs' stalker and wonder what the staff must think....

Pic 8 - red frame gets my vote. I think that's the same as pic 2.

Deb, I had to smile at your "not helpful" comment because actually your answer was very helpful as I agree with you (and Unfrumped and Allona).

My favorite was the blue (#1 and #7) which was of course the most difficult to photograph. On me they photo'd purple, and on the table they look bright blue. That's because up close they look blue but standing back a bit they appear more purple (the color was marked as blue).

The red pair (#2 and #8) was a close second for me - not sure if they washed me out a bit. I thought the plum pair (#3) was too dark.

I don't like #5 as much as #1 and #2.

I'm concerned #1 and #2 might be too small.

I still like #6 but am concerned they might be too big. Allona, they do have a lighter band of blue across the top. Not sure if they're as current/trendy/complimentary as 1/7 and 2/8.

Thanks to everyone for your input! It's a old fashioned, western movie-style showdown now between #1 (blue), #2 (red), and #6 (blue). The rest are out of the running for me. A decision will be made and an order placed by the end of the day (uh, maybe...no, really!)!

I still like the red ones best. You can't go wrong with the blue ones either, but the red looks the most harmonious to me and it's still a fun dash of color all the same. I'm looking forward to hearing about your final decision.
