Is colorblocking still relevant for fall 2012? Or should I return that colorblocked sweater I just got at NAS?

Yay. I don't see this trend ending any time soon and colorblocking can be great camoflague for problem areas.

Well, I love those colors, and am enjoying colorblocking...just bought a color-blocked skirt at the NAS, and a dress online!

But I'm also OK with being out-of-step with whatever is trendy...

Yay, Nordstrom had that color blocked skirt in the pre-season Fall 2012 catalog -- don't think it is out at all.

I think it will stick around a while. I'm not overly crazy about it, but I don't hate it either. I take it on a garment by garment basis.

But you should keep your sweater; I think you'll be good for quite a while with it.

I just re-looked through my giant special edition of Vogue Paris that shows highlights from most of the major Fall/Winter 2012 shows. The only ones that showed color blocking were Celine, Marni, and BCBG Max Azria. But they weren't like that sweater. They were more small blocks or stripes of color.

That's what I thought Anna, that this trend is peaking. I do like it (love actually) when it's done in the scuba/tuxedo variation, in other words slimmer vertical colorblocking.

I ordered the colorblocked pencil skirt, too.

I love that sweater and think it is very "you." But I do agree that if it's important to you to be ahead of the fashion pack, colorblocking probably isn't going to put you way out front.

But I really had to dig for these examples. Definitely not a dominate trend. I did try on a yellow, grey and black color blocked Joie sweater at the NAS. Yellow, or at least that particular shade of yellow looks horrid on me.
I think I'm interested in the Baroque themed trend.

You know, I purchased it so quickly, I barely tried it on. I was very attracted to the clean soft cotton knit aspect of it. I thought it was a good throw-it-on-with-black or blue skinnies and you're out the door kind of piece. Not much planning required. I will have to post a k/r on it, I am awaiting my other 2 NAS purchases.

I am personnally going to keep it alive...I love color and color blocking...the colors to make outfits finally arrived in stores this year...I won't let it die...stamping foot!

Sweater twins! I bought it too and thought the fit was ok on me. Angie, maybe after NAS is over, I'll post a better photo to get your opinion.

Blue/black is a pretty classic combination and I wouldn't expect this sort of sweater to last more than 2 years anyway. I think you should keep it and wear it.

I like some types of it : specifically, depends on the colors, and then, only two colors, no more. Really like your sweater and hope you will wear it!

I think that sweater should have some longevity even if the color block trend wanes -- it's a classic color combo. I didn't see it at NAS but it does look appealing in the picture.

However, I am now completely distracted because I LOVE those green paisley jeans. The ones Anna posted are amazing, and I would love to see you guys try them, but they are a bit much for my lower half. I like the more low-key print for myself. They are now in my shopping cart. Can I justify another pair of jeans?

I think color blocking is still relevant. Here are a few pics from Resort 2013 featuring color blocking, usually paired with a print (Altuzarra, Balenciaga, Celine, Chloe, Derek Lam, and Issey Miyake).
