ask angie and all: tweaking bootcuts

so i tried styling my bootcuts before angie's post. not very successful.

but i wanted to wear these jeans again. so after the the post, i tried again.

1. silver zara jacket, black v-neck top and 3 different shoes: black sandals, pointy tip cap toe oxfords, gold penny loafer with faint snake print

2a. cream leather jacket + gold snake print loafers

2b. silk shirt with chrysanthemums and kumquats print on navy blue background, pale gray leather jacket and 2 different shoes: black sandals, white sandals

2c. same as 2b without the jacket.

3a. cuffed jeans, gray leather jacket and tee, 2 booties: burgundy with black cap toe and ankle strap, dark gray with side cutouts

3b-d. taupe liinen jacket with a slightly shiny finish and 4 different shoes: burgundy booties, gray booties, black cap toe oxfords, gold penny loafers

bonus k/p: what do you think of the linen jacket? does it fit?

Rolled, they are working for me as bf jeans - I like them with the linen jacket, maybe add a belt? If you find the roll too thick (it looks ok to me) you could cut them off and have summery bf jeans. That's what I did with some old boot cuts and I'm quite happy with the results.
Uncuffed, I think they do need a heel and look better with boots/shoes than with sandals.

I think bootcuts look best with a shoe or boot and not sandals. I think you need a belt also. The first jacket I think is best?

I like the middle first picture - great silver jacket and pointy oxfords. Rolled up i like the grey booties and the oxfords. I love your oxfords!

I like the first jacket with them, partly because the tweedy color tones really well with the denim. No preference as to shoes.

It's a nice jacket. Good color. I personally find linen hard to wear in a jacket because it doesn't fit my body as well as other fabrications. The linen stands away more, do you know what I mean? But if that aspect doesn't bother you, I think it's really good.

bj I am not crazy about any of these:(. I am wondering how a silky blouse untucked with a jacket over the bootcuts would work? I think it's the tucking that is throwing me.

I love all of the stylings, Sadly, the jeans are not PPL, IMO. they are a little bit too short.

I see what Zap sees. The styling is great but the jeans are just slightly too short. IMO, for bootcuts longer is better. I wear mine pretty much touching the ground. I also wonder if maybe the knee break/knee fading is too low down (although I can't tell exactly where your knee is), and that might be messing with the proportions.

I like them rolled up. I'd add a belt though!

bj111, I'm not feeling either of bootcuts with flats here. They are barely even long enough for flats. It's a step down from your usual KILLER looks. I personally don't fancy the thick roll of the roll up either. I vote pass on these jeans asap. (Or cut them to make the roll more streamlined and wear them as clams).

That said, I do see you in a fab pair of bootcuts with heels that are the right length - a la Zap You have the body type, the footwear and the avant-gard toppers!

Echoing Angie. You can make these jeans work brilliantly as clams or BF shorts. And then you can get yourself a fab pair of PPL for heels bootcuts and have fun shopping your closet for the toppers!

I don't really want bootcut jeans. I wanted to make these jeans work. I'll be trimming these and another pair into cut offs.
