Ask Angie, and all shoe folk...sneaker trends?

Love(d) the slip on sneaker trend. Alas, have had to retire 2 of 3 pair. I wore them into the ground! I didn't do bright coloured athletic shoes or white sneaks, since I was happy with the slip ons. Now I need to build up my (very) casual shoe collection, and I'm looking for maximum comfort.

Angie, et al - what sneaker styles are you seeing, and what is trending? What will be the fashionable sneaker style for 2017?

I noticed that the new Vince collection has some slip on mule-style sneakers with no back. I can't decide if I like it but I wonder if it's trending - I saw a lot of shoes like that last year so it makes sense if it's moving to sneakers. That style often doesn't fit my high instep so I'm unlikely to wear them myself but I think I like them.

Here I see lots of sneakers - white leather, lightweight colourful trainers, slip on, hybrid boot style, some flatform style.

Last winter I purchased some pewter sneaker boots and this winter some white leather ones. I have worn both a lot although the pewter ones are getting tired (and I am a bit tired of them after two seasons of good wear).

Oh good. My pairs of slip-on sneakers are in hibernation for the winter, but I still love them and they're still in good shape. I really enjoyed my colorful and patterned sneakers this year too.

I've not yet bought slip on sneakers but want some. So far they rub the top of my touchy feet and cause pain. I've been liking my refined sneakers that don't make my feet look quite as big, and metallics.

I have a pair of haircalf CorsoComo slip ons and I like them. They're pretty comfortable. I've been hoping to find some with a little more arch support just because my arches are freakishly high.

While I'm not an expert like some of y'all, (looking at Angie here LOL), it seems to me that slip-on sneakers are one of those things that seem pretty classic, and don't ever look bad (unless they're covered in details that date them, like studs or spikes or something). Kind of like a classic equestrian style boot, I see more of them when they're trendy but the classic ones don't ever really look bad. So it's good to see Angie say they're here to stay.

I still fear that my leopard print haircalf ones will possibly look dated soon, but if I could find a basic black or navy then it might be more classic and last longer style wise. (Sounds like a perfect excuse for shoe shopping LOL)

CWS, I put a 'Superfeet' insert into as many shoes as I can, and especially sneakers. I really need the rigid arch support in my right foot, or else I start to get plantar fasciitis.

Good news about the trend. The width of most slip on sneaks accommodates my wide forefoot (bunions) and insert (if I take out the original). i've like the quilted leather versions I've been seeing, but was concerned they might be passé. I'm working at introducing a little more trendiness into my closet.

Have you seen the Adidas Fenty line (Rhianna") ? The new flatform burg velvet suede sneaks with white soles are STUNNING! Her line just won a CFDA award of some sort for footwear. Sneakers are here to stay

Late to this party, but I saw the discussions on sneaker hybrids and apparently my subconscious mind wouldn't let it go. I found these at a steal of a price and they were just weird or random enough that I couldn't NOT buy them LOL.

I bought these a few weeks ago and will be "debuting' them in Toronto this weekend. They come with two sets of laces: fat satin ribbon laces and fat woven tube laces. Sorry, I know i already chimed in here last week or whenever it was when you first posted, but I am beyond obsessed with sneakers. FINALLY there are flat comfortable shoes I actually want to wear. I am also eyeing the Kors blush ones with a blush patent cap toe. Personally, I'm done with the plain slip-on versions. I'll wear mine for really casual , around-the-yard etc occasions but feel the silhouette has moved on to a more interesting look - like the hybrids, high-tops, lace-ups. For slip-ons , new ones that look up-to-date are the fun fur pom-pom tipped navy suede slip-ons from Wishbone (Browns) that have a silver metal bit of trim at the back heel. Honestly, i could buy 4 or 5 more pair of sneakers and still not feel bad

I bought these lovely pink leather ones last April. I think they are sneakers? Recently clocked up 20 wears which is how much I want to wear all my clothes I've decided, as per something I read on the forum back about May last year, that's when I started tracking. They are here next to the pale pink jumper I had bought in March and could not resist buying pale pink shoes to go with.

I've had these two zip-up sneakers sitting in my Zappos cart for a bit. I love them but I haven't pulled the trigger because I'm not sure I'd wear them more than my moc-toe ankle boots.... but I do love them.
