Una linked to this jacket in Ceit's Gap Academy thread. And I fell in love. I would like to spring for it. But I am wondering about the sizing. The reviews are contradictory in the extreme.

Has anyone tried it on? Would it fit like last year's model that several members own?

Suz, me too. I think this fits my checklist of perfect blurgundy blazer, but I am scared too about the conflicting size reports, and, like you since I would be ordering from Canada I don't want to get it wrong!

If this is this years model of the one I tried, I loved it except for the too-skinny arms. Does anyone know if this version has better arms?

I haven't tried it but I am interested too! Although I suspect it might be too long for me even in the petite.

I never tried last year's model because of the reports about the arms being tight - that is often an issue for me anyway so I knew it would be a big problem.

In the photo of the grey, the ruching on the sleeves of this one looks rather severe and a bit ugly IMO, though, and I'm not sure I like it.... but it doesn't look as obvious in the other colors, so I would be interested in knowing what people thought of that too.

Totally agree about that, Diana. Weird. On the red it looks as if she has turned back a cuff, but on the grey it looks unpleasantly bunchy (at least to my eye). Hmmm.

How confusing - two of the three reviews say it runs small. Then the third review says she went down a size. Argh!

Maybe the outlier was always wearing too big jackets and this is the first she bought her correct size (with the SAs help)?

I can't wear most Gibson jackets because of thier sleeves and my big upper arms and broad backvs. small rib cage. I've only been successful in their knit one.

Thank you, MNSara. I think you may be onto something with your analysis there about the reviewers.

I think this one is a knit but I'd better check again. I have a small rib cage and wider shoulders, too, though I'm not an IT and I do have slender arms. Hmmm.

I will be stopping by Nordstrom to try it on today or this weekend. I saw it in the store when I returned something the other day, but didn't realize it had a peplum back. When Ceit's post reminded me of it and I saw the link, I figured I had to go back and give it a whirl!

I think the bunchiness on th gray sleeves is actually a ruching detail.

Oh, I like the peplum and the burgundy color! Too bad I already have last year's model.

Personally, I really like the ruched sleeves on last year's blazer.

I tried last years model and thought it ran quite large. The XS was huge on me and got voted down on the forum, so I passed. The Gibson one button blazer fit me well in an XS.

I haven't tried this years model. I hope you find one that works since it's a really lovely jacket!

How gorgeous. I have not seen it or tried it on but I can tell by how it fits on the model that it runs small. Nordies blazers usually look huge on the models, have you guys noticed that?

I am hesitant on the ruching, if not I would order it myself. So cute!

It's a truly beautiful blazer and I can tell based on Ceit's pirate outfit that it would fit very well into her wardrobe. The burgundy color would look beautiful with Suz's coloring as well.

And of course, I want it for myself. Based on the chart, I think I'm going to be in the MP.

Angie, do you think it would be smart for me to go with petite or regular? And would I go S or xs?

My shoulders are actually quite wide (39") but not thick, if you know what I mean, and I have no bust to speak of, a narrow rib cage and slim arms. And I'm short waisted. But I fit perfectly into regular-sized European jackets - French 34 or 36, Italian 38, British 8.

Maybe quints. I have a gray & red reversible knit jacket from NAS with a flared bottom, but the tags are still on. . .would only keep one. . .this one is intriguing, but if the arms are tight it's a no-go.

I just read the sizing on this jacket: PXS is a 0, PS is a 2-4, and so on. Usually, PXS is 2, and PS is 4-6. Maybe that's why customers said the sizing was off.

I tried that on at Nordies and I loved it. Super flattering. I tried the S and I was surprised it fit. It's a fabulous cut. They only had the black in the store, and I didn't even realize it came in grey. Might have to check it out!

I think pretty much the same size. I don't think it was abnormally small, at least not that I can remember. (It was a few weeks ago.) I'm not an XS, but the S seemed okay, maybe equal to around a 4?
