I am one who struggles with denim jackets, but I would like to have one as an option. I *think* I prefer a bit of a worn vintage vibe and a less tailored fit. What do you think about this option from the Gap? The length is on the long side. Ok for pairing with jeans and shorts or should I keep looking? Also considering this bomber as an a lightweight topper when I'm wearing blue jeans (I don't care for blue on blue denim). Thoughts?

I prefer the bomber. I think the denim jacket is a bit long, as you've noted.

I like the bomber better too. I took me a long time to find the two denim jackets that I own. One is more worn and a little oversized -- very casual. The other one is more fitted and a darker wash -- I wear it with dresses and skirts.

Try the waist length version -- it depends on proportions and might work. It has to do with other factors in the cut as well. Mine hit at my natural waist (except one, which is slightly longer and curved through body) but I'm short-waisted. So...

Love the bomber. Try denim jackets until you find the one you love. There are so many different types. I am kicking myself for not buying a denim bomber when I had the chance,

Joy: Yes, I plan to keep trying. I couldn't believe the difference in fit just due to the denim wash. Same cut, different wash, completely different fit.

I adore worn-in vintage and save tons of it, but this particular jean jacket looks long and loose in this photo. Unless you absolutely love it, let it go. A good vintage look should reference your body and fit like a dream.

Bomber is definitely awesome on you but I like both long AND short denim jackets and so I actually like that one for diff outfits, as you suggested.

Around the waist is good. Try petites too - since you are short in the waist and long in the legs, despite your height.

Gee, I actually like the denim jacket best. Like the long clean lines of it.

I am also short waisted and have found success with the denim jackets at Old Navy in recent summer seasons - they tend to come in lots of shades and wash fairly well so you can get a few options to play with

I'm definitely going to be looking for a white denim jacket for this summer, and will start my search there.
