Goal: be able to wear, in warmer weather, some all-season straight or
mini-bootcut trousers that are already hemmed long-ish for boots in winter so are
too long for my summer flats and ½” heel type shoes.
--So,
need maybe one versatile pair of shoes for spring and summer that has same heel height as
my boots.
--Up to
2” heel, prefer 1-1/2 “, comfortable, cooler than boots (though worn with either
thin socks or nude knee-highs depending on style.
--Pant
colors are variations on black and dark gray and mini-patterns in same. So,
even basic black, vs dark gray, darkish colors, combination colors, possibly red! Very subdued metallic works—pewter and not
sparkly. Generally am not liking the nude shoe with long dark pants for me
though need the above in nude for skirts!.
This
would be kind of a pants-covering -footwear look but not exactly floor-sweeping and would
be an alternative silhouette to more tapered pants worn scrunched over
lower-heeled footwear, (the lower-heeled
shoes generally being more reliably comfortable for long-day wear.)
Styles
considering: heeled laceless oxford, shootie, heeled loafer, closed-toe
slingback, cutout bootie, monkstrap. Also wedge versions when appropriate instead of blocky heel. (No peeptoes or open toes).
My
guess is that it’ll be trial and error , keeping an eye out for any and all and
finding the best fit and color and maybe my sugar or poison eye.
But,what say Angie and the forum on best-bets
for updating? Are any of these totally “wrong” if I found a good fit (e.g., are
heeled loafers “out”). And/or other details to consider—color, reptile,
metallic. Or is "multiple trends on the go" my friend here?
Thanks for any suggestions or musings.
