First, sorry for goofy, no make-up, convictlike pics. But I need some help. I have no clue about specs. My last pair is 8 years old (#4). The glasses will be very thick so it's best that the frames aren't too big.

Two SA assisted me in the shop and we came up with 3 alternatives. All of them will get extra nose cushion (is that the right term??) put on. That means, the specs will sit a bit higher and not so close to my eyes and chins. Please consider this when looking at the pics.

1: Vendela - IRL my eyes are more centered than in the pic. I like that the frames are see-through on the inside and that the side bar is emerald.

2: Elizabeth Arden - All black, but white zebra pattern on the inside of the side bars.

3: Fendi - Feel very, very comfy, but are a bit soft? Side bars are kind of taupe, neutral, but not so much fun.

Do I have the winner specs here or do I need more searching (hopefully not...)?

I like #3 best by far. Good shape and nice contrast colour. I do find the refined temples a little overly classic so I would keep on looking. Personally, I think studier temples look more modern.

I second, keep looking. If by thick, you mean you have a very strong prescription for severe near-sightedness, I think even these choices are too big in the lens area. The lens has be progressively thicker at the edges , the bigger the size. But it's all relative so it does depend on the actual prescription.
I would look for a smaller lense size but with more rounding and not rectangular like your current glasses. I think you want to look for the higher nose bridge but not scoop down too much onto cheek.
Glasses shopping is hard!

Vi like 3 also. They are a good shape for your cheekbones, giving a lift rather than the droopiness of 1. I also like the variegated color which also brings in some light.

You have such pretty shiny hair and lovely skin. The old glasses do not look that bad, frankly, but an update will be fun.

I like #2, but it may just be because you're smiling. I always have a hard time being critical of a clothing item or accessory when the wearer looks happy.

Good luck with your search! I think the 2nd ones are my favorite as well, but that could be because you look more relaxed in those pics.

I guess I'm alone in this, but I really like the Vendelas (#1) on you. The thin, delicate black is graphic and defined, without overwhelming your gentle features, and the shape opens up your face in a very happy way. My second choice would be the Fendis, (#3) but the brown tortoiseshell seems a bit tired--not enough contrast--on you. Your inky black hair is such a beautiful feature, I love the idea of echoing it. I've seen tortoiseshell-type frames with a lot of black in them; you might look for those if you like that pattern.

P.S. Just turned up the brightness on my computer so I can see the touch of emerald on the sides of the Vendelas, and I love it! Now I'm even more strongly in favor of this pair.

I also like #3 best out of these, the shape looks good on you and I like the color better. The first one droops and scoops down too much onto your cheeks IMO. Not sure about #2 either. I also vote keep looking!

I like #3 and then #1, as long as your eyes are more centered (in #1). I would go with either of those or keep looking.

Thank you all for chiming in. It is really supporting to have the forum at hand. I think the eyes are centered IRL and they are not as drooping as in the pics (esp. #1), but I'm still searching and I think you all have good comments to ponder. I don't find specs shopping fun at all.
