Ask Angie & All: K/R BF Jeans

Hold the press - I'm wearing BF's after all!

I'm not a jeans gal per se, but have felt a growing desire to add a pair of casual boyfriends to my S/S wardrobe. I'm after one in a light wash, with no ripping/holes, and at a low price point. This one is my first find that matches all my criteria. It is from H&M.

I find them extremely comfortable. They are my regular size, 27/32, and they stay up without a belt, but I can pull them up and down. You know that I like tailored fits, but I'm embracing roomy ones more and more these days. When I tried to size up, however, they looked less flattering to my eye.

My questions:

How is the fit? Is the size ok? I am unsure of the rear view.
Can I wear them unrolled, or are they too short for that?

#1: The jeans as is
#2: More basic pictures, with rolled & unrolled legs and a belt
#3: How I plan to wear them with a blazer:
Navy blazer
White tee
White belt
Dark red bag, pink silk scarf (Ralf Lauren, thrifted)
Chucks, white
or
Silk scarf as belt, fuchsia clutch
Stone suede booties

#4: How I plan to wear them wit slouchy cotton sweaters:
White cotton sweater (new from Gap, London) and red patent flats
Light blue wool/cotton sweater, hand knit, and blue wedges

What do you think? Should I keep looking, or are these the ones?

Wow!!! I just brought a 26 size one from H&M all the time and it looks so different from this :D. I guess the width at the bottom you have make it more refined looking.

Loving it on you. Also love the styling:)

ETA I would wear them unrolled. It hits your ankles so with lower contrast footwear, it would work given the new Angie guidelines

I think they look great. You could even size up - maybe these will be your "gateway" to that. Hee hee. Time will tell!

I have to say I am totally crushing on your footwear. Especially oxfords in #2 and those booties. And that belt is also very cute and crush-worthy. And you've inspired me now to try my boyfriends with a blazer. Not sure why that didn't occur to me. All in all, brilliant!

I think they look great on you! I like this fit, but I tend toward less baggy looks myself.

I think these are fantastic - they look perfect in fit to me, but I don't like really baggy jeans. I like them rolled but think they are also fine left down. I wear similar jeans all the time with my flats, sometimes rolled, sometimes down. I love the way they look with the blazer and tee - and that new knit in pale blue is going to be so beautiful with these!

Keep - they look wonderful. I have a slight preference for the rolled version because I think it adds to the casual look. What a great find.

I really like these on you. They are a slim boyfriend fit, which I think works really well with the looks you're showing. Both rolled and unrolled versions look good to me.

IMHO these jeans are PERFECT!!! I like them both full length and rolled, which is great for versatility. I also really like the lighter wash. Every styling is brilliant. I think these are your BF jeans Ingunn.

They look great, Ingunn. I agree that you could even size up if you wanted more slouch, but these are a perfect starter BF. (Kind of like a starter wife, haha). Love your styling!

These look SO much like my first (and only) BF jeans which are the Kut Catherine Slim BFs. I too was uncomfortable sizing up and mine fit just like yours, right down to the back view. I know what you mean, the back view is somehow different from usual, but on you it's great! You can wear them rolled or unrolled I think. Great find! I think you will love the fresh silhouette and the comfort.

Wow, how wonderful with so much appreciation! Thanks, everyone! This was obviously a simple challenge for you. I will experiment a bit with the rolling, and I also expect them to ease out a little and become roomier. That is part of my decision to buy them in this size.

I had a pair of boyfriends 8-10 years ago, but they were quite different, and had a very large back pocket. Now I'm ready for 2nd round!

Coming up when I've had a chance to edit the pics and write a post: Nude (pumps) or not, that's the question. There's a bigger challenge for ya:)

Ingunn, you nailed it first try! These look great! I like them best unrolled, but if you look back to Angie's first or second outfit with BF jeans you can see she says unrolled works with booties.

They look fab Ingunn. We both found our BF's today! I like both rolled and unrolled with any and all shoes! BTW I found the H&M jeans the wrong shape for me under my bum. They sagged in all the wrong places on me so it goes to show there's a pair out there for everyone.

Thanks, everyone:) you're the best. I'm already wearing them - go Team Wear! And they are easing out a little, so a little more bagginess is to be expected. The denim is very soft and thin, and 100% cotton, which is perfect for Summer. Plus, now I'm able to try the pastel and classics ensemble, too. Fun with fashion indeed:)
