Fashion designers seem to have some preconceived notions about what certain groups of people like to wear. The two catagories that spring to mind are Older Women and Young Children. For some insane reason, much of the clothing produced for these 2 target groups is decorated with appliques. What's up with that? I DO NOT like appliques on my clothing (I'll be 63 this month) and my granddaughter (9 in January) does not like them on hers. Neither of us want bees, Scottie Dogs, or patchwork daisies adorning our chest. She has a double problem because when the manufacturer does not applique the things that fit her, words are silk screened onto them and glitter often added.
