Many thanks to Runcarla (who sent me down this path) and Nemosmom for photos and review and Suntiger who started the camel coat thread. My coat arrived today. Nicely folded and packed in a paper signature bag. The first thing i noticed was how light the box was. The second thing I noticed after romoving the coat was it was not creased at all(which says a lot about the fabric). I have never owned a camel or part camel coat. The fabric is silky, hard to describe almost felted but no fibers or pills to it, almost like the smoothest sheared alpaca. There's a luxe quality to the hand and not itchy at all. I ordered a size "2" which is Aritzia's own sizing. I'm 5'3" slim rectangle. Size 2-4. 34 a. I am exactly on the low end of the size chart. Nemosmom, who is similar size but taller did size down to a 1. I usually size up in coats - definitely don't do that in this coat. I run cold and frequently dress as a "snow beast" in the winter with bulky layers and I do not tolerate anything tight. If you prefer a less oversized fit, because this coat is oversized by design, then definitely size down. Even over a moto jacket and my heaviest blazer this coat glided on. One neat feature of the dropped shoulder and dolman sleeves is they appear neat, narrower than most in the sleeves, which balances the volume, but leave lots of room in the shoulder area for easy layering. Buttons and stance perfectly positioned. Pockets, although sewn shut, and I have not opened yet, seem perfect height. Sleeves come to base of thumb (I have long arms and legs/height) and this is my favorite length. I can't comment on warmth. The coat comes to the base of my calf, long but no chance of tripped and the perfect length for a maxi coat on me. The coat seemed very light but as I continued my sit test and movement test I did start getting quite warm despite the a/c. Hips even with a long blazer were roomy but neat. Inside right side is a buttoned pocket (nice perk). I think most people would advise me to size down, but I love oversized and the size down would fit the hips with layers but would not have the ease I like. For those who love earth tones the colors are fall foliage at it's most glorious - cocoa, camel, cedar, burnt sienna. Of course, I went with the black, no surprise!! This will replace 3 old coats for me. I did purchase at full price $398 and many colors and sizes are already listed as low stock. One word of warning, when you check out they will offer you the preferred address. I did that on billing address which added the extra 4 numbers to my zip code. Aritzia cancelled my order without telling me because my billing zips did not match. Customer service was responsive but there is a lag in communication which I am not used to dealing with. I always didn't reorder. I'm glad I did but be warned on that. I'm very impressed with the quality of the coat other than the buttons. Just cheap plastic, fine but nothing special and I think that would have been upgraded without damage to their bottom line. But they were nicely and securely sewn on. That's my take. Well worth and try and for the money I have not found a nicer quality coat. Hope that helps!! Thank you guys for the suggestion, love it!! The was my instead of NAS splurge!!!
