Bless goodness! I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I guess it's good to know exactly what it is, but I hope you get your much-needed pain relief. If you don't mind, I'm going to share my story with you, in hopes it will help you (see below). As bad as things seem right now, hopefully this is a condition you can manage so you don't suffer.
I went 20 years with leg and back pain that gradually worsened over the years until I was in constant pain and could barely walk. I went to various medical doctors, and none of them knew what the problem was. They would just tell me to put my legs up and rest. The problem was that putting my legs up and resting did not get rid of the pain. When it finally got to the point where I went 7 days and 7 nights with pain and could barely walk, I went to a new doctor and begged her to help me. She did an MRI, which revealed I have a bulging disk on my lower spine that presses on the sciatic nerve and sends pain down my legs. She put me on Relafen, and I've been taking it ever since. Yes, it's an NSAID, but without it I'm in a lot of pain, so it's either take it and accept its risks or live with chronic, disabling pain. With medication, I'm practically pain free, though I do have to watch how I move my body. There are certain things I can no longer do without causing pain.
Like I said, I hope this helps. Please explore all measures that you think might be helpful, until you find the answers and solutions you need. Good luck. I'll be praying for you!
