If I were still teaching, I would be very afraid. At least it sounds like some students are supportive. Be hyper aware of any students who act strangely or come on to you, especially if they got a low grade in anything. It probably does not matter if it is your class or.not. Are there some fellow teachers that would be willing to sit in with you at any conference (and you with them) for some support?
Today my orange is the orange striped tee with blue jeans and the same earrings and bag as yesterday, nude flats.
I wore my Otto the Orangeman tee, because it’s the only item I have with orange, but sadly people thought I was just supporting Syracuse University. I was able to speak up though since I so rarely wear a tee.
You are wearing orange for a great cause. We have very tight gun control laws in Australia, and despite guns getting into the wrong hands from time to time, it has significantly reduced the threat of gun attacks at schools.
We are tightening ours up since our 15 March gun massacre in Christchurch. Our government is buying some guns back. I am surprised how many are said to be out there because we are not really a gun culture, only for some hunting of animals and duck shooting. It is more of a rural thing.

i'm guessing the orange is because its the color that many hunters wear for gun safety as its easy to see in the woods because there really isn't any natural orange things in the forest or other places where you are likely to be hunting.... (FYI many of the US states actually require hunters to wear orange in the woods....)

Well, I saw this real late. With 10 minutes left in the weekend. No orange clothing but a bangle, scrunchies, and a pair of Halloween candy corn earrings. Not very impactful but possible for next time.
I am in 100% agreement with the thought behind this, but really have nothing orange in my closet. Thank you to all who made the effort to bring attention to this incredibly important issue!
